A (somewhat) new format for the SotC post, because I had some fun with basic coding. Follow the cut for this IC week's shenanigans:

The Weather
In summation: Cold. Snow. Ice. Yikes.
Crime
Still a thing, especially in Shantytown.
Rumors
The Sun is now taking some questions.
MOD NOTE: As mentioned this way, here is the prominence info a few days early for you all, for reasons outlined in that post. Prominence is still starting on the appropriate IC day, however, so it is not in IC play as of this post and this post shouldn't be used as a timestamp for the start of it as it usually is. Apologies for the confusion it might cause, but posting dates will be back to normal by next Prominence.
The Weather
Ah, cold snaps. Temperatures are still not higher than 30F/-1C, so bundle up. While most of the roads have been cleared of their ice and snow, there are still issues with it elsewhere.
Crime
Shantytown is hoppin'. Maybe don't go there if you care about safety.
Rumors
The Sun still hasn't made a public appearance or statement after adding another District to her purview. Huh.
The Weather
The cold takes a more sudden and sharp downward dive; the City becomes coated in more ice than snow. Temperatures will not be higher than 30F/-1C. Power outages will be common.
Crime
Shantytown is busy, to put it lightly.
Rumors
With the Emperor being assassinated by a Chosen on November 30th, the last of the old guard of Magistrates are gone. But it's not long at all before another Magistrate steps up to make another power play, as those Chosen who are paying attention will notice that The Sun now oversees an unprecedented two districts — her original one of Finance, and now the void filled in the Tower with the Emperor's demise. She is also the Magistrate who opened up those other planets, and the travel pods sit in the Finance district.
The Weather
↪ In MOST of the City: Now that late November is upon the City, a chill is blowing through the City this week. Temperatures will average 54F/12C in the days, with nights cooler. The skies are more grey and overcast.
↪However, in Shantytown: This area of the City will see rain for the next week, as well as hosting more lightning storms than would be typical-season appropriate. Huh, wonder what that's about.
Crime
To keep it short and sweet: It's heavier in the post-elder gods appearance.

The Weather
Now that November is upon the City, a chill is blowing through the City this week. Temperatures will average 58F/14C in the days, with nights cooler.
Crime
To keep it short and sweet: It's heavier in the post-elder gods appearance.
Rumors
—
The Weather
Temperatures are hovering a couple degrees lower than around 64F/18C in the day, and a few degrees cooler at night. Yep, definitely autumn weather.
Crime
Anything from lighter crime to gangs getting riled up, are a thing.
Rumors
Still no definitive answers on the missing Magistrates.
The Weather
Temperatures are hovering around 64F/18C in the day, and a few degrees cooler at night. Yep, definitely autumn weather.
Crime
With two districts missing Magistrates, there's more than a little uptick in crime, as groups are getting more brazen.
Rumors
Still no word on why two districts are sans Magistrates or who might replace them. Weeeird.
The Weather
The flora of the City are in vibrant fall colors, leaves sprinkling the sidewalks and streets. The temperature requires a light jacket at most, but you won't be uncomfortable if you forgo one.
Crime
Holding steady at its current rates.
Rumors
There are some issues in Shantytown and The Gardens of Pleasure, especially for the Chosen who are tied to those Districts. For starters, there's no word on the presence or other whereabouts of The Moon or The Lovers. With the new prominence, the Chosen in those respective Districts may find themselves feeling restless, more lost. Detached. For Chosen who have been here a while, they likely know to take this as a sign that shenanigans are afoot regarding those Magistrates.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Weather
A cooler, crisper fall air is starting to seep into the City. The Natives and Chosen may want to consider breaking out the light fall jackets soon enough. Some of the leaves are looking as though they are just starting to turn colors, and many of the coffee shops around the City are starting to advertise their seasonal pumpkin spice lattes, and other pumpkin spice flavored treats.
Crime
There's still a noticeable crime problem. In other news, water is wet.
Rumors
It's not exactly a rumor as much as a blatant display, but some Chosen have been having "fun" on a planet.
The Weather
For mid-late September, the weather is still warm, but hints of the pleasant fall air are definitely starting to roll in and make their presence known again. Enjoy the sunny days, Chosen, because they'll be gone before you know it.
Crime
Crime still remains in its spike. Those with thieving and other crime inclinations seem to be wanting to give a test to the City's new police chief, in what may or may not be some weird hazing thing. Either way, the best idea is that someone might want to do something about it. Or with it; that can be for better or worse.
Rumors
All the talk about the new worlds that were revealed in the Financial district isn't quieting down; are the Magistrates up to something with them? Is it a good idea for Chosen to be so brazen about going to explore or should they be more hesitant?
The Weather
Things seem to have regulated back to what people would normally expect from the end of August - a sweltering heat that brings out ice cream and cold treat vendors into all the districts to ease the suffering, and plenty of shorts on display. The sky stays cloudless aside from a few brave whisps of white cloud that move past. It might be hot, but it's pretty and if you stand just right, you might even get the hint of a good breeze.
Crime
Crime remains in a higher gear. With a newly installed Chief of Police, thieves might find a little more resistance but any crackdowns that might be on paper certainly haven't hit the streets yet. Store owners are irritated and short with customers and vendors, but they're trying their best. Someone might want to do something.
Rumors
There's whispers of a new Chief of Police and the City isn't slow in it's word of mouth. There's no telling what kind of soul has been put in the position, but there seems to be bets under the table and between the natives. Speculation about the new worlds that opened in the Financial district continues to circulate; theories on what the Magistrates may do with them are less under the table, but muttered much more quietly.
The Weather
Now that the ice is starting to recede, the sun is welcome to do its job again. Over the next week, temperatures rise back to the summer highs that were being seen before, with a few extra thunderstorms to compensate for the rapid rise in air moisture.
Crime
As the ice frees up water ways to bring much needed supplies back into the city, crime is rising. Deliveries are getting stopped and stolen, and it’s heavily affecting how quickly the grocery stores are being restocked.
Rumors
People are largely pleased to be out of what seems to be the worst of it. There’s a tension of hostility towards anyone who would suggest rocking the proverbial boat, but most souls are simply looking to rebuild and find some peace
NEW WORLDS?!?
With no announcement at all, The Sun has opened up magical pods that whisk you away to one of three different worlds. Of course, there’s a small fee but can you really put a price on adventure? Find out more about your new options here.
The Weather
The summer rains have become a little more frequent, helping the rise of humidity in the sunny hours and days in between. Everyone’s got their fans on and are breaking out their favorite summer time treats. Perfect beach weather, when it's not raining.
Crime
Crime has almost leveled back out to regular norms, with a decline from the previous weeks, though there’s a noticeable uptick in Lust distribution. Everyone’s pockets are full and despite the chaos coming from the island, things might be okay.
Rumours
It’s back to who’s fucking the milkman and speculation about the lights being on in the back of OHM in the City - the buzz around the mysterious Sun is at an even simmer and those who were worried about an attack from the Chosen wonder if it was all a hoax to begin with. The Lovers have been seen with more frequency too - what's up with that?
The Weather
Temperatures are up across the city and summer is in full swing. The heat has a relieving side effect to help ward off heatstroke - bouts of summer rain that leaves areas more humid then they were before and evaporates off the blacktop too quickly to cool anything down.
Crime
Theft and larceny are abound in the wake of the murmurs about another attack on the city; people’s windows and doors are locked and barred when possible, and shop-keepers are keen to keep their products safe. Be careful out there.
Rumours
With the rumours that the Chosen will attack the City somehow, speculation is at an all time high as the natives get used to a new face in the Magistrate council and the lack of a Chosen face on it - the city seems split on the opinion around it.
The Weather
Enjoy summer, folks; the days are getting warmer and warmer. Grab some sunscreen, a cold beer, maybe hop in the pool.
Crime
As people settle back into the norm -- erm, again -- crime has started popping up more and more. Be careful and all that.
Rumours
Huh. That was weird. Wondering why some people shifted into versions past, etc.? Yeah, so's everyone else.
The Weather
Summertime is in full swing. The creeping heat from the week past has settled into the roads, and the days are significantly warmer. With a mid level humidity, it’d be perfect for sitting by a pool.
Crime
As people settle back into the norm, crime has started popping up again. Nothing more then purse snatchers and those looking to make ends meet, but do be careful.
Rumours
The loss of Temperance has been well noted by the people and the whispers around is that he was fired for getting married. Who are they going to get to replace him?
The Weather
The sunshine has returned and the City will start warming up again over the next week. The rain has gone away and given everyone a break and if one closes their eyes, they might imagine that summer is just around the corner.
Crime
Crime is rarely a factor. With the City so deeply shocked with the conflict and all the chaos it brought, a large number of the criminal element are dead.
Rumours
No one is sure why the fighting stopped, but rumour has it that the Magistrates gave someone up to influence it. Lips are fairly tight, overall.
The Weather
Who cares about the weather? The sky is stuck somewhere between overcast and dark, barely good for any light and not letting any rain in the hopes of it all clearing. How many days has it been since you’ve seen the sun?
Crime
Crime in the City is largely moot - many have died in the battles and those that haven’t are mostly taking advantage of the City’s services, but there are always a few people who want whatever it is that you’ve got. Desperate times, after all.
Rumours
Pretty much everyone is talking about Current Events and those who aren’t are deaf and blind. Questions about what will happen and if what’s being done is enough are abound.
