City Event - Fundraiser Part Deux!

Yes, fellow citizens, the time has come to break out your wallets and give until it hurts...again. What with all the angsty, painful events of the last month, the City as a whole needs and excuse to let loose and party like it's 1999 (the Prince version, not the Will Smith one.)

The Highgarden Shelter is hosting a Masquerade Ball!

Each character will be getting an invitation delivered by men in masks and tuxedos (who may or may not be assistants of the Hanged Man's. She'll never tell.) This is what the citizens will be greeted with:

The invitation will explain that there are several residents of the city who lost their homes due to the rain and flooding. This event is to help raise money to rebuild houses for them. A cause that will help many get back on their feet again.

There will be another auction, this time in the form of a Bachelor/Bachelorette auction. Anyone is free to participate, but it will be limited to just two characters for everyone. (Otherwise there will be no one to vote). The people put up for auction will tell Margaery in advance if they are interested in agreeing to a date with the winner on a separate day or are more comfortable for spending the rest of the evening with the winner. Those who only want to spend the rest of the ball with the buyer will have their starting bid lower than those who wish to set up a date. (Below there will be a sign up comment).

This event is black tie and everyone will be expected to wear a mask or costume. People can come in formal wear if they prefer, but everyone MUST have a mask. There will be a demasking at midnight so you will be able to see just who you were dancing with.

The event will take place on the 17th (ooc: Oct 3).

Hey all! Here to kick things off for the next player plot! Here's how things will go down:

By mid day on July 9th (Sept 9-11 OOC'ly), once Erik and Charles find Heart of the City power and the telepath harnesses it, the City at large will experience power outages in each of the districts; ranging from no power in Shantytown for the duration of the event. The Coliseum, Tower and Leisurebrook areas will have intermittent loss of electricity, so its best not to rely on it. Gardens of Pleasure, Red Lantern district and Finance Street will be without power for most of Day 2.

Power will be fully restored sometime on July 10th after Charles is mentally and physically "unplugged" (/cough*by dying) from the Heart of the City and won't be back until July 16th (Sept. 30th OOC'ly).

Combined with this, your characters original sin will be amplified, and there will be additional influences (if you so desire) of Wrath and Greed as outlined in this month's State of the Game.

Hello Sinners! Lily here bringing you a most excellent player plot. You know, because everyone loves them, right? Right. Let's get down to business, shall we?

On the morning of July 9th (September 9th OOC'ly), Charles and Erik are going to formally return a special kind of "thank you" to the Magistrates for the events that went down at the Coliseum. Obviously, that event didn't leave any kind of warm memories for our dear muses, so it only seems appropriate and befitting to let the district rulers know that they may have shown what kind of power they hold over the Chosen, but now it's time to show them what some of the Chosen are capable of.

And here's how that's going to happen.

Locked down in the lower levels of the Tower, hidden behind a very odd looking door and originally found by three Chosen (Devi, Draco, and Margaery), is something affectionately known to the Chosen as the 'Heart of the City'. Exactly what it is is unknown, but for all intents and purposes, we'll find out here that it's some kind of power source. Or has the capability of being one, at least. Charles, hearing of this interesting piece of information by way of his boyfriend stores the information for his own interest and later future research of. However, after what happens at the Coliseum the telepath, along with his best friend, Erik, feel it's worth investigating further. By mid afternoon on the 9th, from the comfort of somewhere safe, Charles will step onto the astral plane, bypass all demon security in the Tower and go looking for some leverage to use against the Magistrates. What he finds will be that power source, which he will quickly decide to harness. Only thing is it will be using Charles as well as a conduit unbeknownst to him.

Once this happens, the City will experience a large drain of power and the Chosen will see an amplification of their original sin (far more than when the City normally influences it) play into their daily routine. Of course, this will cause all the Magistrates to become extremely uncomfortable because not only does the alleged Heart appear to power the City, it also appears to take precedence over the Magistrates, throwing everything out of whack. Thus, they will be looking to end this little hostage situation quickly.

This is a player wide plot and will take place from July 9 - 11 in game, and September 9 - 11 OOC'ly.
