City Event - Fundraiser Part Deux!

Yes, fellow citizens, the time has come to break out your wallets and give until it hurts...again. What with all the angsty, painful events of the last month, the City as a whole needs and excuse to let loose and party like it's 1999 (the Prince version, not the Will Smith one.)

The Highgarden Shelter is hosting a Masquerade Ball!

Each character will be getting an invitation delivered by men in masks and tuxedos (who may or may not be assistants of the Hanged Man's. She'll never tell.) This is what the citizens will be greeted with:

The invitation will explain that there are several residents of the city who lost their homes due to the rain and flooding. This event is to help raise money to rebuild houses for them. A cause that will help many get back on their feet again.

There will be another auction, this time in the form of a Bachelor/Bachelorette auction. Anyone is free to participate, but it will be limited to just two characters for everyone. (Otherwise there will be no one to vote). The people put up for auction will tell Margaery in advance if they are interested in agreeing to a date with the winner on a separate day or are more comfortable for spending the rest of the evening with the winner. Those who only want to spend the rest of the ball with the buyer will have their starting bid lower than those who wish to set up a date. (Below there will be a sign up comment).

This event is black tie and everyone will be expected to wear a mask or costume. People can come in formal wear if they prefer, but everyone MUST have a mask. There will be a demasking at midnight so you will be able to see just who you were dancing with.

The event will take place on the 17th (ooc: Oct 3).

Elsa will be there to give her support, but not with the auction. She can make an ice skating rink or some ice sculptures. Also, does anyone want to take her dress shopping? She'll just keep wearing her usual dress lol.

Handy shall be attending with Reinette, but probably won't be in on the bachelor auction. You know, being engaged an all. ~_^

He'll be going to the masquerade itself with Elle, and they will probably enter together looking very dashing and beautiful. <3 They'll both also be up for auction. :D

HOWEVER, dancing with Sylar also means prolonged physical contact, so I'd like to throw out there the following opportunity. He has a touch empathy ability. Upon skin contact, this ability allows Sylar to feel the emotions, thoughts, hopes and deepest desires of his target. The longer the contact, or the more intense the contact, the more Sylar can detect.

So if anyone has ideas about some deep emotional issues you'd like Sylar to bond with you about during dances, THIS IS THE TIME. In canon, every time he's used this power his sympathies always lie with the person. It's not something he uses to manipulate people (unlike any of his other abilities), but instead it was a power he got rather late in the show, that helps him connect with other people again.

This power is also a catalyst in helping Sylar understand someone enough to copy their power. Now, I don't expect this to happen during the course of a dance, but if this particular idea interests you, we can definitely talk.

Lily's Crew

Charles will be attending with his handsome fiance. He will be looking and feeling great despite being dead for 5 days. He can probably be talked into a dance or three, as well as down for conversation. He will not be taking part in the auction for very obvious reasons.

Caius is going up for sale. Not that anyone will recognize him however so he's going to be playing mystery man for a bit before that. Open for dancing, conversing and/or shenanigans of any kind.

Emma will be there with her boyfriend, Killian. She will be stealing Graham for a dance, and is also available for dancing and conversation as she's still pretty new to the City and can definitely use the CR!

Margaery - She'll be hosting the event (obviously) and will be attending with the Hanged Man, who will be largely disguised. She's available for dancing. Margaery will also be on the auction block.

Reinette - Reinette will be there with Handy, but not participating in the bidding or auction, as she's happily engaged. She's free for dances and conversation.

Belle - She'll be in the auction as well. She's free for dance and other shenanigans.
