Happy first day of 2020, everyone! Hopefully you had a good celebration last night (I was in bed, trying to fall asleep with my cat; it was awesome), and hopefully your hangovers are not hell this morning if drinks were part of your celebrations.



December's AC is closed; thank you everyone! December's AC was largely an auto-pass for everyone, so this'll be a short list this month. By mid(ish)-December, I did send out reminder PMs to the very few people who did need to provide December AC (in the instances of characters on saves & new characters) and hadn't done so by that date, since December can get out of control really fast for a lot of us. So, truly a special thank you to those who did respond to the PMs and/or AC. ♥

As always, this list is... when needed, I'll be posting a summary of characters swept or player-dropped for everyone's OOC reference, and IC reference for any CR.

There are different reapplication rules for characters who've been dropped vs swept; please review them on the game's rules page if you're wanting to reapply your character/s, or are a different player who wants to apply for any character on this list (as a reminder: as of now, no character who posts a hiatus to the hiatus page has to check into AC, so long as that hiatus lasts two weeks or longer — thus, you will not be swept for failing to check in while on a hiatus of that length). Any questions may be taken to any of the listed methods of mod contact. Comments to this entry are also open and are screened (since AC post comments are screened, so is this one).

A post for January's AC will be going up today, and will, of course, be open all month as always. This will also be the first month of our NEW AC SYSTEM, as voted on by players when that poll went up.

Here is your JANUARY 2020 activity check!!

Starting today, JANUARY 1st, you will have one month (until JANUARY 31st — 11:59 PM, Eastern USA time) to post your activity for JANUARY. This post will not be updated with a "closed" comment, but the mod will be checking timestamps.

Activity Check is now two threads, the length requirements of which depend on how backtagged it is (please read the first point below for details).

Other things to keep in mind are as follows—

✖ Links posted for AC must be from posts either in the month being checked, or, if they meet certain criteria, up to two months in the past. You may use threads started as late within the last two months IF you have four timestamped comments in each month for however old the thread start is. That's an average of one tag a week at minimum from your character in a thread in backtagged threads. For example, what January AC might look like for me as a player doing my AC— I can use a thread started as late as November as long as I have four timestamped comments from my character dated in November AND four timestamped comments from my character dated in December. If I use a thread that was started in December, I need four December-dated timestamped comments from my character. If I use a thread that was started in January, I just need more than one January-dated timestamped comment from my character in it. Any combination of the aforementioned are acceptable, so long as two threads that meet any of those criteria are presented for AC. Here is a more bullet pointed version of this explanation.

✖ If you have an insufficient comment count, a save will be required. You may ask for one, or the mod will tell you if it's needed. A save is currently being adjusted for the new system, but this line will be edited when it is finalized (which will be well before anyone needs to ask for a January save). EDIT [01/19/2010]: A save is providing one additional thread that meets the criteria (meaning your AC proof on a save would have three threads in the submission).

✖ Not responding to AC (or failing AC while on a save or other stipulation) means you will be swept. Please check the rules regarding sweeping.

✖ If you required a save last month or the mod requested it, you will need to provide AC of the new save outlined above. If you were accepted in the most recent app cycle, you just need to check in. In the case of hiatus during the time of AC, please consult our hiatus rules.

✖ AC rules can be found HERE, if you want to check up on them! The mod recommends you check the rules regularly, all the same.

In summation:

Current Players - DO AC AS PER ABOVE. Ask questions if you have them. If you're unsure, post your AC anyway; if there are any issues, the mod will let you know and help you fix them.
New Players/Characters - Exempt for the month they were accepted; must check in.
