GET IN THE CAR LOSERS - ooc plotting

So Resident Victorian Assassin Jacob Frye, runs a gang called the Rooks. Angel, in the background, runs the books, helps out with some long term planning & is the extra muscle for it from time to time. Which they're starting to gain some traction, and is beginning to get noticed so it's time for him to show off a little, make a claim that they are serious and are here to stay. But they aren't the only gangs in the city! No there are lots of nefarious under-worldy types running around. So you know what that means? TIME FOR SOME ILLEGAL STREET RACING.

This will be held around September 18th in real-time / November 10th game time, (other events permitting, not a set in stone date by any means).

• ICLY: The word is going to go out, unofficially on the street so to speak (think word of mouth, weird text messages on burner numbers, addresses scribbled on walls with times) that the race is going to be held down at the docks at a warehouse carpark by the beach. Out of the way, but easily cleared of all pedestrian traffic after hours. It's neutral territory and a place for some of the gang members to stretch their wings. Drinking, drugs, a chance to show off some NICE™ cars and a moment to win some cash money. Whilst this is going to be organised by the Rooks, anyone is allowed to come as long as they won't start nothing.
  
  There will be some background flexing of politics between the gangs - which your character is totally allowed to get in on or completely ignore. If you would like to do some background ground reading, however, I did a full write up on the gangs that will be featured here! Which a note from me: I wrote these up as NPCs for anyone to use or reference, I am happy to flesh out any questions you might have, but also feel free to do whatever the hell you want with them.
  
  At the end of the night, predictably, the police are going to show up to break things up. So it'll be time to high tail it out of there. Cue chase scene montage, and time to find a hiding spot until it stops being a hot spot.
  
  
• OOCLY: If you're NOT interested in the racing, then all you need to do is tag in when the logs go live and have fun. Easy-Peasy!
  
  If you ARE interested in doing the races, I thought this would be fun way of doing it:
  
  Basically pick the race (or races) your character would compete in. Then when the log rolls around I will stick all the names in the hat for each event and draw them out the "winner" for each race ahead of time. ICLY, each character will need to chip in something into the pot that they're willing to lose but is worth $$$. It can be straight cash, it can be a flashy diamond ring, it can be a shiny new iphone XVII, something that is worth money, obviously, but it doesn't have to be their life savings. Obviously, no pressure on it being anything important, it can be something as weird as you like. The winner for each race is going to get the money and the items that were put in for that race. :>
  
  There are three kinds of races!
  
  
• 🚥 STOPLIGHT DRAG RACE:
  Pretty simple, a stretch of road is cleared out at the starting line is the traffic lights. Rev your engines, get those cars heated up, and when the light turns green, PFWOOSH off you go! Fastest person wins!



• 👿 BEACH DAREDEVIL:
  Cars line up on the beach and speed towards the water. The goal is to get as close to the water as possible without driving your car straight in. The closest person to the water that didn't sink themselves wins. This is a test of nerves vs confidence.



• 🍩 SPINNING DOUGHNUT:
  Do a doughnut! The person who does it the most badass, flashy, over the top doughnut but doesn't totally lose control of the car, wins!

Questions:
My character doesn't know Jacob or Angel, can they still go? YEP, they might be organising but it's a free for all. They have little to no control of who turns up on that end.
My character likes cars but doesn't know how to drive/doesn't have a drivers licence? Eh, neither do Angel or Jacob. This is criminals. Just don't get caught. Hell, crash a car if you wanna, and that's a start for your character to be dodging criminal types. By all means.
My character won't drive, and doesn't care for cars, can they still go? SURE CAN. This is as much about making contacts in the criminal underworld. Feel free to have your character just schmoozing.
My character doesn't have a car, will they be able to compete? That's why all the gangs are there! They need drivers for their fancy racing cars. It's also totally fine if your character would have a car they have been customising and they would be bringing it along.
Will there be any IC consequences? Not if you don't want them too! I double-checked with the mods and they're fine with it happening and it wouldn't cause any long term problems as a whole.
