Possible Scenarios01. A New Arrival: You've just arrived in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a very strange sense of having been displaced. Thankfully, you don't appear to be alone. Here's hoping that person passing by is helpful, and doesn't plan on mugging you or something!
02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Maybe you'll find someone who can help you fight off that shadowy thing that's creeping towards you!
03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a party at the Tower by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! Just make sure you watch out for those little red packets of powder.
04. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure!
Cole | Dragon Age | 02 - demon ahoy with two options
He had heard the cries for help, had gone to see what he could do. It had felt wrong... but then, everything feels wrong here; the air is thick with poison. He'd heard the sound of a person in distress and had done the only thing that made sense.
But he'd gotten close, and they'd changed, reached for him with a monster's grasp.
[OPTION 1: FIGHT THE MONSTER]
He has instincts and reflexes beyond what the creature expects. Cole twists in the demon's grip, ducking out of the way of its jaws and rolling across the pavement. He nimbly finds his balance, but the demon is already shrieking and coming after him again. Just as lightning-quick, Cole's hands raise toward the hilts of his daggers.
[OPTION 2: YOU'RE TOO LATE]
A piece of him is missing. He feels the space in the side of his neck. He also feels what it left in its place.
It's like his heart is pounding, only of course is isn't, but something is racing through him in a steady thrum.
It's difficult to concentrate on his feet as he walks. Everything feels too alive. The poison isn't just in the air now - he sees it radiating off of people in waves, an instinctive pull followed by stay away, unwanted, danger.
Until he senses someone who doesn't feel quite so menacing. Cole pauses in his steps, reaches out with a hand as if begging.
"Please help."
((OOC: Depending on which option you choose, Cole is either fighting a lust demon or has been bitten by one. Fair warning, choosing Option 2 may lead to the obvious.))
[I'm so going to hell for this but let's do option two!]
Anders isn't one to deny the request for help. He'd want to even without the weird pull he feels when Cole comes near to him that he wants to believe is Justice responding to kin.
"Of course," he says without even hesitating. "What's wrong?"
[I hear they have good parties down there]
"Please," he repeats. "I'm - poisoned. It put something in me."
It, he says, thinking the demon. Because no matter what others call him, he knows what he's not, and what that was.
A demon has infected him. He doesn't think he's possessed, but then, he's never been possessed before. But he knows what possession means.
The fingers of his extended hand shake slightly. "I'm frightened."
[oh good. otherwise it'd be boring!]
Anders nods and comes close to help support Cole. "It's all right," he soothes, easily slipping into the tone that he used as a healer. "I'm a healer. I can help." He looked over Cole's body (Because it was his body, and--Maker how what that even possible?) to try to find the injury and his eyes settle on Cole's neck.
His hands move to try and push back his hat and hair, just enough to expose the bite so he can get a better look. The touch is careful and gentle, as if he's used to people jerking back in pain or cringing as he checks out a wound. His hand is already glowing with healing magic, though he isn't entirely sure it will work the same way on Cole or get rid of whatever poison the boy says was put inside of him.
He'll have to take Cole home to check it out, he realizes. But at least a quick healing spell should keep him safe long enough to survive the walk.
At least that's what Anders thinks. He isn't used to the magic of the demons here yet and he certainly isn't certain that Cole's body will heal normally. Though he is pleased to discover that it does.

"Thank you." His voice is quiet and flat, his eyes wide and staring haunted toward Anders. On the outside, he must not look so different from how he normally does. Inside - it isn't the same.
He glances down. The next sentence comes out more halting.
"I am called Cole."

He leaned a little closer to put his arm around Cole to guide him back to his flat. He planned to use that time to see if there was sign of more of the poison.
no subject
"You know." The surprise was, for the moment, enough to distract him. He started walking along with Anders. "Most people don't. Not even when they can see."

"I had a friend once who was a spirit of Justice," he explains. Saying that might have been dangerous if he was talking to a person from his world. Most everyone knows that the one who blew up the Chantry in Kirkwall was possessed by a spirit of Justice, even if they all have their own take on the tale. "I don't know if you can tell, but he's a part of me now."
Even if he couldn't tell that, Cole might be able to sense is the lingering pain of loss that hangs over that idea. Justice had been a friend, and in trying to survive within Anders he had been twisted by the anger. He wasn't a demon, no matter what people opposed to the Mage/Templar War might think, but he was not longer his own entity. Anders might have gained the ability to change the world, but he had lost his friend.
It was weird, how even lingering on that made him feel like he had to make sure that Cole was protected. He didn't want to lose any more good spirits. For now, though, that meant doing what he could to make sure Cole was okay.

"I'm glad that I found you." His arm tightens on Anders' shoulder. He's almost clinging as they get closer to the flat.
It's a struggle to keep his breathing under control. Cole puts a hand to his throat, even as he leans into Anders and forces his feet to keep moving.
"It burns."
no subject
"Just hang in there," he says. "I'll help as much as I can."
When they get to his flat he guides Cole to his couch to sit down.
