Test Drive Meme 002

Test Drive Meme

Considering apping to the City of Sin, but unsure of who to bring or if they'll fit? Feel free to give the setting a test drive here!

→ Comment with the character you'd like to test drive in the setting, with name and canon in the subject line
→ Choose a scenario, or create your own
→ Tag around

Possible Scenarios
01. A New Arrival: You've just arrived in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a very strange sense of having been displaced. Thankfully, you don't appear to be alone. Here's hoping that person passing by is helpful, and doesn't plan on mugging you or something!

02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Maybe you'll find someone who can help you fight off that shadowy thing that's creeping towards you!

03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a party at the Tower by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! Just make sure you watch out for those little red packets of powder.

04. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure!

"There's nothing that can be done about them?" Or are people just not trying? He's used to standing his ground, and not afraid to do so. "In that case, perhaps I had better come inside."

"Not that I've ever heard, but I don't pretend to be an expert. Shootin' 'em doesn't work, anyway. Most people just try and avoid 'em, I think." Standing one's ground was all well and good, provided it wasn't pointless.

"Come on, then." He opened the door and stepped back in, allowing enough room for the other man to walk past him.
seekingcrocodile: (I prefer captain)

"Shooting something isn't the only way to deal with a threat." Under any other circumstances one might suggest that he had gone through character growth; in this case, he's really just advocating a different form of violence. So not exactly helpful.

"How long do these creatures typically stick around?" he asks as he steps inside.

"I haven't heard of anything else bein' too effective either. At least there ain't as many of 'em around as there used to be." He flipped a light on, revealing the room to be a mid-sized drinking establishment, the decor a bit on the rustic redneck side.

"Not long. As far as I know, they can't come inside any buildin', so it's just gonna keep on lookin' for easier prey. You want a drink?"
seekingcrocodile: (the sea calls to me)

Does he want a drink. What a silly question. To someone who knows him, at least.

The place was dark though, until just now, and there's no one else in here. It doesn't seem much like a place that's open for business, and the new Killian, well, he's been trying to make a habit of taking others into consideration. "If it wouldn't be an inconvenience."
demolitions: (you know what they say)

Boyd had been in the process of closing up when he'd encountered the other man, but he'd only been going home to a book and a soft bed; there was no-one waiting for him, so he didn't mind putting it off for a bit.

"Not at all," he said, moving behind the bar. "What's your poison?"
seekingcrocodile: (solution to every problem)

He slides onto a stool at the bar. "Have you got any rum?" This is a new place for him. He doesn't know what's available here. If that's not an option he'll find something else.
demolitions: unless otherwise noted (pouring a glass)

"I do," he replied, selecting a bottle with one hand and placing a glass on the bar with the other, into which he proceeded to pour a double. And then he poured himself a bourbon, because it'd be rude to let the man drink alone, right?

"I'm guessin' you're new in these parts?"
seekingcrocodile: (cheers)

[personal profile] seekingcrocodile 2015-06-21 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
He clutches the glass in his hand. "Aye, and I'm not entirely sure where these parts are." Which is definitely something new for him. He's used to knowing his destination before he arrives there.
demolitions: unless otherwise noted (that sounds profitable)

"It's called the City of Sin, but sadly, it ain't Las Vegas, Nevada. It's a little difficult to be entirely certain, but everyone's best guess is it's a supernatural place in another dimension. The city chooses people and brings 'em here to feed off their baser urges." He paused to take a swallow of his drink and let Hook digest that information.
seekingcrocodile: (my collar it is impressive)

[personal profile] seekingcrocodile 2015-06-22 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"The City of Sin?" He doesn't understand the Las Vegas reference, but he lets it slide. It's hardly the most important piece of information here. "I get the impression that it's not as fun as it sounds."

Other worlds? Hardly anything new to him. "The city brings people here so that the city can feed off of them?" He makes it sound like the city is sentient. That can't be good.
demolitions: unless otherwise noted (brown study)

"Colorful appellation, ain't it?" he said wryly. "And no, it's not, unless you enjoy feelin' driven by a compulsion that ain't your own."

He nodded. "That's right. I don't know if it's ever been clearly defined how the magistrates fit into it. They seem like acolytes, almost."
seekingcrocodile: (contemplative)

[personal profile] seekingcrocodile 2015-06-24 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can't say as I do. I doubt there are many who would." If he does something, he wants it to be because he chooses to do so, not because someone or something makes him.

"Acolytes? That sounds more like a religion."
