State of the City : Envy
WEEK 16 : Envy
April 23 - April 29
”I Feel So Cheated.”
It seems, this week, as though everything you don’t have is what you want. Characters might realise that their friend has a mug they want, or perhaps it’s a house that they pass by every day that they know they can’t afford. Maybe it’s a better job, better pay, a better life. Whatever it is, it brings with it a sort of simmering resentment that underlies the citizens’ every action, driving some to lash out violently.
(Players will decide how and to what degree their characters are affected by this and all of the dominance shifts to come. This will last for one in-game week and end on February 11. Also, a reminder that we are on a 3:1 day ratio!)

State of the City At Large:
- Weather in the City is almost leaning towards downright balmy now, at least comparatively. Warm weather is creeping up, accompanied by bouts of rain every now and then. Sweaters are recommended, but at least it’s not that huge coat you’ve been wearing all winter. That fog is still hanging around during the witching hour, though.
- Strangely, the sun appears to be rising later and setting earlier. It’s not entirely noticeable until mid-week, when it’s abundantly clear that the people of the City have lost at least two to three hours of sunlight. Now that’s weird.
- With this odd change in sunrise and set times comes a spike in demonic activity: those shadowy creatures prowling the streets appear to be making their mark again, taking advantage of the extended darkness in the best way they know how.
- There are rumours that not only are the people of the Red Lantern District still a little miffed, but the Magistrates themselves. And no one - and we do mean no one - wants to piss off the Chariot and the Devil.
- Despite the lingering news of one major drug ring being taken down - or perhaps because of it - there appears to be a small spike in underground activity and violent crimes around the City. The Magistrates are still keeping to themselves for the most part, and taking care of things behind the scenes.
