Possible Scenarios Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that! 01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach churning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged! 02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running? 03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party in the Tower District that spills out its doors in welcome. Obviously, this whole thing is weird and you don't know who your hosts are, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad. 04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences its population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and be wicked. 05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villain. 06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank. 07. Network: There's a network device in your pocket - or at least a familiar object that seems to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps you can take to that and ask for a bit of help? Or maybe you'd prefer to have a little fun with all of this. Surely someone will reply. 08. Wild Card:Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

"Manipulation is exactly His style," Lucifer insists, because of course he does. But he does relent, if only just a little. "Although I suppose I doesn't quite make sense for Him to punish you as well. Not unless you've pissed Him off lately, anyway."

[deathrae]

"No. After you, uh. Left. We all kind of stayed in our lanes. I haven't even been to the Silver City in like. A few hundred years, at least." She plays with the hem of her shirt as she looks around the party. "But I was thinking more like - this feels a bit direct for Him."

[mockeryofthedivine]

"Of course you did. I'm sure that's exactly what He wanted," Lucifer says grimly. All of his brothers and sisters, nice and good and obedient. Just like how He'd wanted Lucifer to be. How Lucifer couldn't be. But they'd all seen the punishment Lucifer had been given. Of course they wouldn't want to risk suffering the same.

"Though you're right that he's not usually this...blatant," he admits. "Not lately, at least."

[deathrae]

"Yeah, things really quieted down after... all that." She frowns and cocks her head. "Unless this is like- a midlife crisis, sort of thing? Can Dad even have those?"

"I should bloody hell hope not," Lucifer grumbles. "And if He can, the least He could do is leave me out of it."

Well. And Azrael too, he supposes. But mostly him.

[deathrae]

"We're all part of His big divine plan," she says, but there's not much conviction to it. It hadn't exactly been Dad whispering in her ear telling her that it was too awkward to see Lucifer again, after all.

"But then, if it's not Him, then. What are we doing here?"

[mockeryofthedivine]

"Don't remind me," Lucifer grumbles. His divine plan is exactly what Lucifer's been trying to escape all these eons. "But as for why we're here, I'm afraid I simply don't know. The humans who live here have their theories, but thus far there's no proof that any of them are correct."

[deathrae]

"Cool. Awesome." She sort of flaps her hands up and lets them clap against her thighs. "So we're stuck in an alternate dimension for Dad doesn't even know how long, just- existing."

[mockeryofthedivine]

"Pretty much, yes," Lucifer confirms. "It's quite vexing. I mean if they'd just offered an invitation I'd have glad come for a little visit. But no, they had to resort to kidnapping. Honestly."

[deathrae]

"I'm surprised you haven't stormed in on whoever's in charge and chewed 'em out for it," she comments. "It's not like you to just take things like that."

[mockeryofthedivine]

"I don't take things like that," he snaps. But then he looks away, not keen to look into her eyes while he admits his lessor position. "But from what I've been able to gather, the rulers of this place possess abilities that are...concerning. Abilities which allow them to warp reality in their favour. And we both know how well it went for me the last time I challenged someone with that kind of power."

[deathrae]

"Eeyup." She pops the 'p' on that, and looks around the room instead of at her older brother's embarrassment. She's quiet for a few moments, before she follows that up with, "At least you're alright. I got worried, sometimes, that something might've happened to you after all that. Not like," she adds, hitting ramble point with extra hand movement, "Not that there's really anything that could be much worse than all that, but like- you never know, I sure didn't, I would've kicked myself for the rest of my existence if you'd gotten worse about it and I wasn't there to know or help..."

"You could have found out how I was doing at any moment," he says sharply. Azrael has not yet earned his forgiveness, and the fact that she'd stayed away for so long still sting. She was his sister, and he'd missed her.

(Missed all of them, not that he'd ever admit that. Not even to himself.)

[deathrae]

She winces at the sudden edge in his voice. "I was busy, I'm sorry. Why do you think I sent Ella your way?"

...wait he doesn't remember that.

Lucifer stops. Turns, slowly. Dangerously. And looks at her.

"I'm sorry, you did what?" he says.

[deathrae]

It's a very deer-in-headlights look on her face when her brother turns. "Okay, I- I know that sounds bad. Because-- you've already yelled at me about it once, so. I didn't do it for you, I did it for her."

[mockeryofthedivine]

"And what, exactly, did you do, Azrael?" he says, because that isn't at all clear at this point. "And how do know Ms Lopez in the first place?"

[deathrae]

She doesn't step back, but she does hold both hands up; half placating, half 'give me one Dad-damned second'. "Okay, um. When Ella was young, she was in a gnarly car accident, and I showed up to do my thing, but-- you know, false alarm. It happens." Before he can get that in this time. "And- you know what Ella's like, she makes you feel good about yourself, so. I didn't leave. And we became friends."

She knots her fingers together. "But, you know, the whole Angel of Death thing doesn't give me time for a social life, even though. She's my best friend. So." She shrugs, looking back up at Lucifer. "I sent her your way. So that way, my two favourite people could be together."

[mockeryofthedivine]

"...Ms Lopez does have that effect, yes," Lucifer says quietly. "Although I would have much preferred to be informed, Sister, that you were sending her my way, rather than being left ignorant and in the dark."

[deathrae]

She looks away again. "Well, yeah, probably, but. I dunno, how much would you have actually, really liked her if I made it forced like that?"

[mockeryofthedivine]

"And sending her into my orbit without an introduction wasn't forced?" Lucifer pointed out, with one eyebrow delicately raised. "It's not hard to introduce one person to another, Azrael. Humans do it all the time. The bulk of their political and economic systems are built on it."

[deathrae]

"Well, Ella doesn't know I'm not human. Or that I, uh. Actually exist." She pauses for a moment. "She thinks I'm a ghost. Or, I-I told her I was a ghost, because humans tend to react better to ghosts than angels, especially when I'm of death and humans and the divine aren't meant to mix anyway..."

[mockeryofthedivine]

"Well I rather doubt you needed to worry in the first place," Lucifer says. "She still thinks I'm a method actor. She likely wouldn't believe your explanations in the first place. It's a wonder you managed to convince her your a ghost."

And then he chuckles, softly, at the idea of Azrael, Angel of Death, being mistaken for a ghost. Really. The things humans would believe.

[deathrae]

"I mean, it wasn't very hard. No one else could see me when I was talking to her." And let's not dwell on how that kind of fucked up Ella's mental health a little.

Then she frowns slightly. "Ella isn't here too, is she?"

"No," he says quickly. "Ms Lopez is not."

Other humans and demons, well. That's another question entirely.
