Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach churning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!
02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?
03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party in the Tower District that spills out its doors in welcome. Obviously, this whole thing is weird and you don't know who your hosts are, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.
04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences its population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and be wicked.
05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villain.
06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.
07. Network: There's a network device in your pocket - or at least a familiar object that seems to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps you can take to that and ask for a bit of help? Or maybe you'd prefer to have a little fun with all of this. Surely someone will reply.
08. Wild Card:Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!
Tony Stark | MCU AU
[ Parties are generally easy to navigate, the wheels of a successful networking venture greasing themselves if the liquor’s freely flowing, the food’s decent and the music choice isn’t horrendous. It feels like the entire city’s here, which suits Tony just fine, all the better to pin down anyone who looks interesting and eke useful information out of them.
Who looks useful, however...
The invite said black tie, so he’s suitably dressed, armored sleekly in a dark tux. Best to blend in— there’s no question he belongs here, so he’ll take advantage, first things first, tipping his chin up at the bartender. ]
Gin martini, like, now. And send one over to my new friend, just...there.
[ He means you, random soul across the dance floor who’s caught his eye. That won’t be obvious just yet, not until the waitress brings it by, “From the gentleman at the bar,” indicating Tony as he briefly makes eye contact, before he continues chatting pleasantly with another attendee.
Ball’s in your court. What will you do? ]

(( hmu, I’m pretty easy. Tony here hails from an AU where Ultron was effectively smothered in the cradle, and therefore didn’t get to rope in Wanda and her bro and kill a lot of people, welp. Sokovia Accords never come to pass. It’s pretty heavily a WIP so don’t fire me out of a cannon just yet, pls. ))

Please feel free not to elaborate how you know your new friend. [ look tony she doesn't need to hear about you making out with people in the corner or whatever. she says her words not entirely like she wants to slap him just for existing. it's progress ok. it'll go a lot better if she finds out that whole...civil war thing didn't happen. ]

Can’t say I know them at all; that’s the point of the New.
[ Boy, that’s an interesting tone she’s using, with an interesting accent as well, Eastern Europe if he had to hazard a guess. Sister Drink Recipient across the way just smiles shyly at him and turns right around with her new martini. Ah, well. ]
no subject
[ Well, she thought it was a hilarious suggestion. ]

Right, so, you got one hell of an advantage on me. What’s your name; where you from?
no subject
Wanda Lehnsherr. [ She was born a Maximoff though, but considering the she's built a familial father-daughter relationship with Erik here, she's been borrowing his name. ] For now. [ If Tony hasn't already noticed the engagement ring on her left hand, he might soon enough. ] From Novi Grad, the capital city of Sokovia.

Congratulations. And Sokovia, right. Totally would have guessed.
[ No he wouldn't, and knows it, charming self-deprecation under the confidence. Leaning against the bar, Tony laces his fingers as the bartender brings Wanda's drink at last. ]
So, Miss Lehnsherr, how long have you been in the City of Clichéd Name?
no subject
[ just keepin' it real ok. ]
How many days or weeks have you been here?

Her own gown is a sleek, stylish concoction of black with hints of gold that complement her hair, almost demure or at least safe if it weren't for the daring slit on the side of the skirt that reveals a length of pale skin with every step. Her legs were always her best assets, in her own opinion.
Taking a tiny sip of the newly acquired gin martini -- she prefers vodka martinis and she knows Tony knows that -- Pepper gives him a faintest knowing smile as their eyes meet across the room for a moment. But she does not take the bait when Tony turns his attention to the person he's chatting with, instead following suit and picking up her own conversations on the edge of the dance floor. Acting like she's untroubled and uncaring of the interruption where she's, in fact, extremely aware of him by the bar, anticipation making her stomach flip a little.
Some time later, she moves on, glancing Tony's way over the rim of the glass as she takes a sip-- and with another tiny smile curving at her lips, weaves her way deeper into the crowd. She's confident he'll follow her sooner or later. Until then, she can wait and mingle, enjoying this little game of cat and mouse, eager to see his next move. Will he give in, or up the stakes somehow? Though usually not the biggest fan of his unpredictability, tonight it is something of a thrill. ]

Once this first little exchange has ended, Tony sets himself to watching Pepper, taking no small delight in the task. She's a vision in the distant crowd, as if she just floated right out of his dreams.
What would he have done, if he hadn't found her here? What will they do now, faced with the notion that they might never go home again?
Baby steps, Stark.
He's not very patient. He's learning, alright, but the lesson can leave off for tonight, and the sudden need to have her in sight tugs him away from the bar. Tony leaves his empty glass on an empty table as he passes, savoring the last olive as he stalks, cat hunting mouse.
Or is it the other way around?
A siren, he concludes as he draws alongside her at last, catching a whiff of her perfume over the lingering vermouth in his mustache, Luring you right in. ]
You look... [ "Fantastic", he told her once, but as he lightly fingers one of the delicate gold accents at her shoulder, a better word emerges, low in the slim space between them: ]
Edible.

Pepper's own glass is barely half-empty when he finally catches up to her; she's been nursing it, preferring a clear head when these surroundings are still so new to them. Slowly stirring the olives speared on a cocktail stick in the clear liquid, she smiles a little too happily at his presence by her side to maintain the ruse of two strangers in the night. Rallying herself, she glances over with a slightly more teasing smile, giving him a look under her lashes. ]
Thank you. Do you tell that to every woman you send drinks to, kind gentleman?
[ His low tone sends a shiver down her spine, a whiff of cologne teasing her nose. He always did look amazing in a tux, and tonight is no exception. ]
