Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!

01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach churning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!

02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?

03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party in the Tower District that spills out its doors in welcome. Obviously, this whole thing is weird and you don't know who your hosts are, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.

04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences its population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and be wicked.

05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villain.

06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.

07. Network: There's a network device in your pocket - or at least a familiar object that seems to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps you can take to that and ask for a bit of help? Or maybe you'd prefer to have a little fun with all of this. Surely someone will reply.

08. Wild Card:Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

Oooh, a hunt! That does sound rather exciting. It's been far too long since we last had one of those.

[at least, with the two of them. Maze has had more than a few hunts of her own]

[ She loves that thrill that comes with hunting him and it's been awhile. ]

Yes, it has. Alright then, ready.. set..

Go.

Lucifer doesn't particularly make himself hard to find. No changes in routine, no attempts to dodge or hide. But he doesn't help, either. He doesn't give her any clues or hints.

Given Maze's skillset, however, it won't be long until she discovers Lucifer's usual haunts. His room at the Red Currant. A high-end tailor's shop. Several classy bars and establishments. But it's at his new place of work that she eventually finds him: Le Rideau Ridge.

He's at the piano, playing a soft, saucy tune.

Even in a city as big as Los Angeles, Lucifer wasn't much of a challenge to find. That's why she was there, after all; to protect him, be there whenever he needed her. So, it was a given that it would take less time to find him now. And that she did after only fifteen minutes, though it would have been less had she not found a shop that sold her kind of clothing.

Maze walks in, eyes widening in delight as she meanders slowly through the main entrance taking in the decor. All the while, she can hear the sound of a piano somewhere nearby and a soft, thoughtful smile spreads on her lips.

To her, it feels like it's been forever since she last heard him play.

After finding the entrance to the stage, Mazikeen watches for a few minutes before making her presence known by walking towards him.

He'd been engrossed in the music, eyes closed as he played. But as Maze comes close, his eyes open and he offers her a lazy grin. While still playing, of course. He can talk and play. He's multi-talented like that.

"Mazikeen," he says. "Fancy meeting you here. And so quickly! I think this must be a record, even for you."

"I think we covered already that this place was little," Maze starts, taking the small staircase on the side to join him on stage. "I didn't realize how small until I started looking for you."

And she'd told him once before that she would always be there for him. Even across universes, it seems.

She leans up against the side of the piano and looks at Lucifer's face as if trying to read it. If she had to guess, there was a lot on his mind.

"Not that finding you was ever a problem." she grins arrogantly.

"Well. It could be worse. At least we're not stuck in some tiny human village that doesn't even have a strip club." That would be roughing it. Now there was was true torture.

"And no, that's never been the problem, has it Maze?" he says, but he seems a little distracted. Like there is, indeed, other things on his mind. He seems...quieter, today.

Thinking about that outcome certainly made something crawl up Maze's spine hard enough to make her shudder. Her and boredom did not mix well at all and her greatest fear, not that she would tell anyone, was to die from it. Be it literally or metaphorically.

The demon lets him have a few long seconds but that pensive look on his face, the same one he's had in the past when something involving Chloe came up, finally pushes her to ask.

"What's going on? Why do you look like someone just stole your pitchfork?" Mazikeen questions, her tone firm because she knows he wants to talk about it.

He always wants to talk about his problems.

He pauses, then, the music coming to a halt as his fingers still.

"...The Detective knows," he says. "She knows, and she...believes."

This is bigger than anything she expected him to tell her and one scarred eyebrow rises slowly in surprise.

"How does she know, Lucifer? Did she see your face?"

[personal profile] mockeryofthedivine 2019-03-23 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer laughs, low and without any trace of humour. "Oh, my face is old new now. It's been taken from me. And to add insult to injury, something else has been forced upon me."

He pauses, taking a moment to grab the glass of whisky sitting on the piano, and take a drink. "She saw my wings, Maze."

[personal profile] preciselyoneofus 2019-03-23 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
The Devil she knew so well was making no sense at all, but she had arrived believing all this to be his fault for everything to do with his Mother. His father was beyond angry. So returning his wings as punishment was, in Maze's mind, only part of the punishment.

There was something in the way he tells her, however, that seems.. rather unenthusiastic.

"And?" she urges him to go on. "You make it sound like she was totally unimpressed. I thought this was what you wanted?"
mockeryofthedivine: (Pensive 6)

[personal profile] mockeryofthedivine 2019-03-23 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I..." he starts, taking another gulp of whiskey to buy time to think. "I don't know what I wanted. I was...I was afraid that if she knew the truth, she'd leave. That she wouldn't want anything to do with me. And now she knows, but she hasn't left. And I can't help but wonder when the other shoe will drop. Because it can't be real, Maze. It never it, not with the Detective. She's still my Father's creation."

And there's the rub, isn't it. She's still a miracle. Who's so say that Dear Old Dad didn't make her want to stay?

[personal profile] preciselyoneofus 2019-03-23 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Maze plays the sympathetic friend as she normally does, but listening to him talk about feelings like humans naturally did was bringing on a fast wave of nausea. Still, seeing him like this was.. well, she wasn't sure if it was more pathetic or heartbreaking. She had made great strides herself when it came to understanding the people around her.

It was the underlying reason for her leaving LA to get away from things under the guise of work. She didn't want to feel for them. Any of them.

"Does it make a difference either way? She isn't leaving. She can't." Maze's tone is detached and unfeeling of the whole thing. "Whether she's His creation or not, Lucifer, you have the chance to be with her. So be with her."
mockeryofthedivine: (Irritated 6)

[personal profile] mockeryofthedivine 2019-03-23 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not that simple," he says, his voice a low growl. Time to shift the topic of conversation, he thinks. "But let's not discuss the Detective. Welcome to the City, Maze. Any plans, now that you're here?"
preciselyoneofus: (020 •)

[personal profile] preciselyoneofus 2019-03-23 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
His sudden mood change gets no reaction. She's been at Lucifer's side for too long to be scared of him when it happens and he knows her well enough to know that dropping something simply because he chooses to change the subject doesn't work.

"No?" Maze questions, ignoring the shift to talk about her instead. "Why don't you tell me why it's not so simple then? Because it's more than just worrying about that other shoe dropping, right? She accepts you, wings and all, but whether you want to believe it or not, you're going to change even more than you have."

Despite the progress her and Chloe have made, it was the truth.

mockeryofthedivine: (Irritated 2)

[personal profile] mockeryofthedivine 2019-03-24 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
"I am not changing," he growls, insistent. "I'm the exact same Devil that I always was. And we are not discussing this, Maze. You tread on dangerous ground."
preciselyoneofus: (016 •)

[personal profile] preciselyoneofus 2019-03-28 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Maze leans forward a little more, the piano keeping her out of his personal space. "I'm always treading dangerously when you know I'm right. But okay,"

She relents, giving a shrug. The demon was sure he'd see it sooner or later.
mockeryofthedivine: (Irritated 4)

[personal profile] mockeryofthedivine 2019-03-29 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
His eyes follow her, burning with still-seething anger, even if they don't burn with the fires of Hell. But he deigns to let her get away with it, and turns to pick up his whiskey glass for a drink.

"You should take a look around, Maze," he says, as his fingers return to the keys, starting their dance once more. "You'll like this little establishment, I'm sure."
