Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach churning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!
02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?
03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party in the Tower District that spills out its doors in welcome. Obviously, this whole thing is weird and you don't know who your hosts are, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.
04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences its population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and be wicked.
05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villain.
06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.
07. Network: There's a network device in your pocket - or at least a familiar object that seems to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps you can take to that and ask for a bit of help? Or maybe you'd prefer to have a little fun with all of this. Surely someone will reply.
08. Wild Card:Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!
Chloe Decker | Lucifer
Chloe is good at think-on-your-feet situations. She has to be, with lives on the line. But even she, with her training and her years of experience, has no idea what to do when she finds herself on an unfamiliar street in an even-more-unfamiliar city. Especially when she doesn't know how she got here.
She's already making a list in her head of what needs to happen, and in what order, because missing something important could have disastrous consequences. Her hand goes to her hip, looking for the familiar weight of her gun. Good. Right where it should be. She leaves her hand resting on it while she turns to the next item on her list. The most important item.
"Trixie? Trixie?!"

Okay. So what should I know about this place that *isn't* in the guidebook?

I take it that you are a new arrival, miss...?

I used to be a professor before I arrived here. Charles Xavier. Please let me know if I can help you?

WILDCARD
It's late, dusk is fading seamlessly into night and down in the heart of the Finance district, the casinos are open for people looking for a good time. But there's other buildings too, banks and offices, and it's in one of those that a loud, piercing alarm suddenly goes off.
Jacob curses, grabbing the safety deposit box and heading out as quickly as he can. There's not much of a police presence out here, but there will be security here in a few minutes, and he doesn't much fancy waiting around for them to catch him. The door and windows might all lock tight once the alarm goes off, but the glass in the windows is still glass, probably because no one expects someone to jump out a third story window.
Jacob smashes through it, catching some of the fancy stonework on his way down to slow his fall, and landing on the sidewalk with the precious safety deposit box still held to his chest. He didn't have time to check to see if the pavement below him was clear, or to make sure that there weren't any helpful citizens rushing over to investigate the alarm.

It's an attempt to make sense of this place that is why she's out walking through the City when someone falls out a window and practically lands on top of her. With her instincts and training, it takes her only a split second to put it all together: the bank, the alarm, the fact that someone just exited through a window. The metal box that someone is clutching to his chest. She reaches for the gun strapped to the other hip.
"Police! Stay where you are! Hands in the air!" She might not be on duty at the moment, but that doesn't mean she can't bring someone in.

"They let ladies be coppers now?" He asks, in a less fancy British accent than the one she might be used to, and then darts away.
Not down the street, but into the darkness of an alley between the building he's just robbed and a casino next door. He's not about to give her a clear shot, now he's given her a reason to pull a weapon on him, and the alleyway happens to be full of trash bags and dumpsters, so that might slow her progress.

He could just kill her, that would be the end of it, but that doesn't seem to be the right answer here. He can get out of this another way, even if it does involve knocking her out.
Who'd think a box full of blueprints would cause so much fuss?
no subject
She didn't see him hide, so when she continues down the alley with the gun extended in front of her, she don't hesitate to walk right past every dumpster in it, including the one with him behind it. She could probably stand to be a little more cautious, but she's got a lot to learn about the city still.
no subject
And as such, it seems to him that he needs to make sure she can't fire it at him.
So he gets up from his hiding place, silent as he can, and clears the couple of steps between them, one arm going around her throat and the other around her arms to pin them to her sides.
"You aren't very good at hide and seek, are you?" He asks softly, arm pressing against her throat. "I don't want to hurt you, so why don't you just take a little nap, alright?"
no subject
Which is what she does, trying to reach anything soft that she can, before finally stomping down hard on one of his feet with one of hers.
no subject
"I said I didn't want to hurt you, alright?"
He repeats. And truthfully, he knows this will probably hurt a bit. But less than being stabbed, shot, kicked in the fork or punched. He'd rather not have her hold this against him too long, or have the entire department against him, moreso than already.
no subject
She can't aim at anything specific, but she knows firsthand how distracting any kind of gunshot can be. So she squeezes the trigger, knowing that whatever she hits, it won't be vital, if she even hits him at all.
Then she relaxes in an attempt to slide out of his grip.
no subject
"What the bloody hell was that? Trying to kill both of us?"
His surprise at such a bloody stupid act means that she can slip out of his grasp, and yeah, he'll kick himself over that for days to come.
