Possible Scenarios 01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach chruning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged! 02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running? 03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party at the Tower that spills out its doors in welcome, by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously, that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad. 04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences it's population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride. Choose your choice of sin and be wicked. 05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villian. 06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank. 07. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

[ it's a toss-up, how much of this is false bravado. But Blaine does make him feel like smiling, so there's that. He does so. ] I missed you too. You've the uncanny ability to always cheer me up.

[A pause] Did you need cheering up? Is everything all right?

It's just been a bit of a trying time. Nothing to worry about.

[offnote]

That is a great way to make me worry.

[alphaophiuchi]

I feel as though you might worry regardless, Blaine.

[offnote]

That might be true.

Can I see you?

[alphaophiuchi]

I'd like that. Then you can see that there's nothing to worry about in person, hm?

[offnote]

Tonight I think I'm going to bother David. But we can meet tomorrow for lunch?

[alphaophiuchi]

Sounds perfect. Bother him intensely, will you? He needs it.

[offnote]

I plan too. [He offers Draco a small smile.]

You probably need it too, so I'll intensely bother you tomorrow.

[alphaophiuchi]

Even better. I won't say no. I'll even clear out my whole schedule for you.

[offnote]

I'll contact you when I know for sure when? I'll see you then. I have to get to bothering now.

[He doesn't send any more messages that night, but the next day Draco gets a text message that lets them arrange their lunch date. Then, when he shows up, Blaine is there, waiting.]

See you then.

[ he's fine to let Blaine do what he will that evening, as he expects that he will, and patiently waits for his own moment to roll around. And then it does, and he's just as cheered when it happens. It's an easy set-up to make - a little cafe in Leisurebrook - and he pops in, eager to see his friend for the first time in ages. ]

Blaine. Good to see you. [ excuse him while he goes in for a hug. ]

[Blaine does return the hug and chuckles a bit.]

Wow. Seeing you really is a blast from the past. [He can't help but feel a bit awkward because he's aged and Draco hasn't really.]

Hopefully a good one? You're looking very good indeed, by the way. In case David didn't tell you already. [ he plucks at Blaine's shirt gently before stepping back. No, he hasn't really aged that much. It hasn't been that long for him. He's been through a fair bit, though. ]

[offnote]

Very good. [Blaine lets his hand linger on Draco's shoulder before slowly pulling back. He looks reluctant to let go, like it might be harder to believe this is happening if he does.] So... Lunch?

[He then focuses on the process of getting a table and being seated. He waits until they are seated to start up the conversation again.] I, uh. I read back in the network... [He frowns a bit and then reaches out to offer his hand to Draco. It isn't sure which thing he's responding to, probably all of them. He doesn't want to force Draco to talk if he doesn't want to so he doesn't push.] You know, if you need anything I'm here now so I'll help where I can.

[alphaophiuchi]

[ he likes the touch; he's not about to complain. ] Lunch.

[ and thus: they settle in. It's a good time. An easy time, for Draco. Of late, he's quite good at coping, at settling into seemingly impossible situations, like having people back and gone and back again.

[ but still, he's not entirely prepared for Blaine to admit that he did indeed read back through everything. He swallows, then accepts that hand and squeezes gently. ]

I didn't want to tell you when you'd only just come back. 'Hi, I got married, but he disappeared already.' Sort of...a horrid welcome back, isn't it?

I'm fine, though. It's been a while. I'm...used to it.

[offnote]

You shouldn't have to be used to losing people. [He keeps his hand touching Draco's needing to offer that physical comfort for as long as Draco wants it.]

But I suppose that's what this place does, isn't it? It loves to mess with you.

[alphaophiuchi]

[ it's nice, so he won't be taking his hand away anytime soon. ]

It does. I think that's its whole purpose. I hate to say it, but I feel as though I might be one of its favourite playthings. Funny, how a few others could get engaged or married, and I'm the one who loses their spouse within only a few months.

I really do have shit luck.

I'm sorry. I wish I had been here to help you through it.

Well, I did miss you when it happened. I'd wished the same.

I'd also hoped you'd get to go back to something better than what you did, though.

[Blaine frowns a bit] I...

Have you ever heard of anyone retaining their memories of this place when they go home? Not just as a hazy dream, but as clear as a bell.

...no. I've not. Admittedly, I also haven't known that many people to come back.

I went home before and forgot this place. It was just a hazy dream.

[alphaophiuchi]

I think I've known other people who just forgot it altogether as well. But no one who actually remembered it.
