Possible Scenarios
01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach chruning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!

02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?

03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party at the Tower that spills out its doors in welcome, by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously, that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.

04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences it's population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride. Choose your choice of sin and be wicked.

05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villian.

06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.

07. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

The guy might've had a point, and Adam thought about it silently for a second. It couldn't hurt. He could probably give a decent enough description of the guy anyway, maybe get someone off the street. And it wasn't like he had to necessarily mention the shield.

He snapped out of his reverie at the next remark, glancing over to Thom curiously. In the back of his mind, he registered that he didn't feel quite all there. One hand had clenched into a fist of its own volition. Not good.

"Yeah, let's do that," Adam agreed hastily, unclenching his hand and splaying his fingers out wide, stretching them out. "Uh. Towards the police station, maybe? I don't know where it is, but maybe if we just keep walking, we'll figure it out."

Onward and upward, he determined, hearing Gansey's voice in his ears, reassuring and cheerful. This was an adventure; he'd be fine. He could figure out a city just fine, even if it seemed to be ten times bigger than Henrietta was. Before Thom could look more worried, Adam started to move, striding purposefully towards the mouth of the alley, where he could see bigger, shinier buildings in the distance.

Thom had just been dropped into the strange city as well, but his anxiety and, if he was being honest, a certain level of fear was keeping him acutely aware of his surroundings. The feeling of disorientation was drowned out by the feeling of being on edge.

"I'm not sure either," He mumbled, following close behind Adam. Somewhere in another alley a door was slammed and the noise made Thom start and nearly run into Adam in an attempt to get even closer. Once out of the alley, a good deal of his anxiety seemed to melt away. It was obvious he still wasn't comfortable with the situation, still a little jumpy, but at least now he didn't look ready to bolt.

"You wanna ask someone? Someone around here aught to know," He suggested, eyeing the small convenience store not far from the alley's exit. The people working there likely would be able to point them in the right direction.

He stumbled a little when Thom hurried to catch up with him, glancing back over his shoulder with a curious blink, but he said nothing. Things happened. And obviously this guy was a little skittish. Still, the company was nice.

"Yeah, let's try that. Maybe we can get our bearings a little more. They might know something about what's going on," Adam suggested. Locals always knew what was going on, and if this place was anything like Henrietta, they'd know a newbie when they saw them. Maybe they'd even know how they got there.

He gestured for Thom to follow along with him as he headed towards the convenience store, glancing both ways before stepping out, lest someone run into him. As he walked, he addressed Thom again: "Are you new too?"

When Adam glanced back at him, Thom gave him a look that was somewhere between apologetic for nearly bumping into him and pleading for him to move faster. He was done with shady stab-o-rama alleyways.

"New?" He echoed, brow furrowing for a moment, "You say that like you've just moved here. I... ehm, I'm just visiting, I guess."

This had to be the result of a portal malfunction. No worries, he'd figure out where he was, get to where he needed to be, and then go home. Or, better yet, find one of his friends who would then take him home.

"They gave me a key. I'd say that's moved in, don't you?" Adam asked, his Southern accent drawing out each vowel to considerably longer than it needed to be. His nerves were present as well, though his weren't quite as obvious as Thom's. The look, though, was obvious, and he stepped up the pace a bit.

"I'd like to consider it visiting, though." And that was the truth. He just had a bad feeling about it all.

He couldn't help but reach for the key he'd found in his own pocket with a slight frown.

"Ehm... I dunno," The strange phone, the key, all of it, it didn't exactly bode well. He'd ended up in a lot of strange situations, but never anything like this. Not to mention, he was alone. Well, not alone-alone, but none of his friends, or anyone else he recognized who could have botched a portal were around.

In stark comparison to the alleyway and road, the inside of the first shop they pushed into was brightly lit. Snacks, some drinks, cigarettes, and lottery tickets. Wherever they were there were convenience stores.

"Uh, hey there, maybe an odd question, but what's the name of this town, mate?" He asked the cashier, trying to act casual, as if his question was the most normal one in the world.

Alone, for all intents and purposes. Adam understood that. He wasn't that fond of it either, not when things with Cabeswater were getting heated and they were so close to finding Glendower, he could nearly taste it. Instead, he was here with no clear way of getting back home and no hint that that was even possible.

It wasn't a good sign, but he was determined to make the most of it.

He stood off to the side, thoughtfully studying the wares of the convenience store and comparing them to things from his own world, as he listened to Thom chat with the guy behind the counter, a bored-looking guy who seemed baffled they were asking.

"The City of Sin. What, no one gave you the run-down?"

That got Adam's attention, and he glanced subtly up from the snack cakes he was looking at, frowning slightly. Nowhere named 'the City of Sin' was a good thing. Maybe he was dreaming, but it sure felt real.

"Oh, like, ehm... What's it called? Las Vegas? This doesn't look like Las Vegas, mate," Part of him knew this wasn't Las Vegas. At all. But maybe, just maybe it was and this was all a hilarious, easily fixed screw up. Maybe some fledgling magic user had made some kind of weird portal magnet thing. And all would be alright.

"Ehh, but no. No one's given us any kind of 'run-down'," He admitted, glancing over his shoulder at Adam, eyebrow slightly raised, to see what his reaction was to all of this.

"City of Sin ringing any bells for you?" Adam, please help him out here. The clerk had to be messing with them.

"Only in the sense that, yeah, it's another name for Las Vegas." And Thom was right, this place didn't look like Vegas at all. Not enough neon. Adam was pretty sure he'd hate Las Vegas too, though he wasn't sure he'd like this place much better.

He shook his head slightly when Thom looked to him, a frown marring his brow. The cashier stared at both of them for a minute, then shuffled awkwardly.

"Try the network, guys. I'm not one of the Chosen; I don't know how you guys deal with things like this," he told him, holding up both hands. "You guys want a...free slush or something, though?"
