The guy might've had a point, and Adam thought about it silently for a second. It couldn't hurt. He could probably give a decent enough description of the guy anyway, maybe get someone off the street. And it wasn't like he had to necessarily mention the shield.
He snapped out of his reverie at the next remark, glancing over to Thom curiously. In the back of his mind, he registered that he didn't feel quite all there. One hand had clenched into a fist of its own volition. Not good.
"Yeah, let's do that," Adam agreed hastily, unclenching his hand and splaying his fingers out wide, stretching them out. "Uh. Towards the police station, maybe? I don't know where it is, but maybe if we just keep walking, we'll figure it out."
Onward and upward, he determined, hearing Gansey's voice in his ears, reassuring and cheerful. This was an adventure; he'd be fine. He could figure out a city just fine, even if it seemed to be ten times bigger than Henrietta was. Before Thom could look more worried, Adam started to move, striding purposefully towards the mouth of the alley, where he could see bigger, shinier buildings in the distance.
