Liar Liar, pants on fire

Oh yeah, time for a meme. Apparently this is our first one. What a tragedy.

You know what we got in this City? A bunch of repressed people, who are far too comfortable behind their masks of lies and half truths. Let's have some fun with that, shall we? A la 'Liar Liar', your character is compelled to tell the truth. The whole truth. Lies of omission are still lies.

Rules are simple
1. Post with your character.
2. Respond to questions, or avoid answering statements.
3. Go make other characters uncomfortable by poking into their personal business.

[pause] ... yes. I've been in Kirkwall long enough. Danarius is gone. I could turn the mansion into something more... inviting. Lived in. [After all, there was still a corpse in the foyer.]

And yet, I didn't. [Does he sound sheepish? He feels a little sheepish.]

[ hey, man, no judgement. ]

Does that mean you've learned something here?

[He tilts his head to the side in confusion.] I don't think so? At least, not in regards to that. [His apartment looked the exact same as when he'd received it. Even the gift basket sat in the same place, the only things missing from it were the money, food and drink.]

[ that just gets a little snort of amusement out of Draco. ] Well, all right. I've seen your flat. You probably haven't.

If it makes you feel better, I never did anything to mine either.

[lyriumburned]

I wouldn't know where to start. It seems fine the way it is. [He shrugs.] So was the mansion. [Broken furniture, scattered books and papers and crumbling walls.]

Oh, to be beyond the draw of material possessions. [ he flutters a dramatic hand to his chest, and another to his forehead. ]

It's still easy to forget that I should consider these things 'mine'. The apartment belongs to the City though, doesn't it? As does everything in it. [The mansion had belonged to Danarius.

Really, both were just justifications and excuses as to why he still had trouble with ownership over things after being a slave without any real belongings, anything that was truly his, for so long.]

The way I see it, they donated it to our cause. Why not do with it what you will? It's not like they're going to be dumping someone else into it while you're there.

...I hope.

[lyriumburned]

I... [He appears to change his mind mid sentence and promptly starts again.] No, I know that.

[Despite not wanting to share more than that, he just can't fight back the words, like he's compelled to elaborate.] I grew up a slave... [Almost but not quite there.] I've been a slave all my live until I ran. About six years ago. It's still difficult to think of anything as mine. And even more difficult to think of anything I would do to any of it to make it more 'mine'.

Oh.

[ he's quiet for a moment. This compulsion thing is putting everyone in a weird place. ]
