Possible Scenarios
01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach chruning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!

02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filing the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?

03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party at the Tower that spills out it's doors in welcome, by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.

04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences it's population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride. Choose your choice of sin and be wicked.

05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villian.

06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With it's open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.

07. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

That desperation to know something about this situation was indeed enough to tempt him. As much as his mistrust of people was - particularly in a place that he didn't know - Ragnar still felt he could perceive through body language what it was that she wanted him to do.

Follow.

But he still stood there, hesitant. Ragnar's jaw clenched angrily and he yelled after the woman. If she couldn't understand him here, how was it they would be able to understand each other anywhere else? But then it quickly reminded himself that 'hearing' wasn't the only sense. She obviously wanted to show him something.

So he followed behind slowly. Watching her every move. Ready to fight if she was leading him into some kind of trap.

She expected that wariness. His eyes seemed to watch her as intently and confidently as a tiger's. There was a level of intimidation in them. Despite being a mortal, she suspected he was not an average man. There was always an aura about someone when they possessed talents unlike anyone else. She had seen it many times through out her life. Men whose candle burned brighter than the others. He didn't need to say anything, it was obvious this applied to him from just looking at his eyes.

Once they reached the Tower district, she paused, looking up at it with a wordless prayer. She'd never tried this before, but had heard from others it would work. Now it was time to test that theory.

"Do you understand me?" She asked, pronouncing each word carefully.

Being in a foreign land with foreign people without his men or his weapon had him pretty much at her mercy. Sure, Ragnar wouldn't hesitate and figured that if he was destined to die here, that the All Father would find him regardless of the location. Yet, there was no sense of impending doom. Or that he was in any kind of danger.

As they traveled by foot, Ragnar continued to watch the woman, as well as look up at the enormous buildings that surrounded them. He'd seen nothing like it and while he'd seen trees as big as some of these 'castles' there was a curiosity mounting on how the makers of such places managed to get the stones so high up to place.

And suddenly he wished Athelstan was there.

All that thought was interrupted by words that he recognized. His head cocked in both interest and suspicion. What sort of witchcraft was this?

"Yes, and do you understand me now?" Ragnar questioned, walking carefully towards her.

"Yes," there was obvious relief in her voice. It at least confirmed what everyone else said, as well as allowed her to help calm him and explain where he was. It didn't take much for her to guess he was not used to cities in general. He felt old school, but the exact time point, she couldn't pin down. Likely, he was way before her time. It wasn't the strangest thing that could happen here.

With language barrier no longer an issue, she began, "This place has a bit of magic to it. It takes people from their homes and time and brings them here. There are others who were brought here, just like you. I don't know a way back, none of us do."

It wasn't the warmest welcome, but being dragged from their world didn't exactly make one feel like a warm welcome.

"What's your name?" Did he have one?

Trying to figure her out was a bit of a challenge. As she stood there, he inspected her from head to toe, tried to figure out her odd dress and what her darker hair must of signified in this apparent land. Where he was from, it was rare, maybe even symbolic of something. Tales told of Ran, the goddess of the sea and storms, had dark hair and was known to be the more merciless between her and her husband Aegir.

"Ragnar." he answered candidly. "And what is your name?"

"Selene." She returned. Her manner of dress would be odd to him. Since her release from the compound and waking in Prague, she discarded her flannel shirts and grunge appearance, opting instead for a post apocalyptic style. Fish nets, tattered or leather pants, black shirts, the sort of things that could be worn in battle.

It was what she was now and what she held herself as, a warrior. It was something she could see in him as well, from his clothing to that fire in his eyes. Her beast recognized something in him that she rarely saw in this world, a like minded soul.

"Where are you from? What year?" She had so many questions.

That was unlike any clothing he'd ever seen worn in a battle. Then again, there was nothing about this place that suggested there would ever be battle like Ragnar had seen or led. The whole place had a darkness to it, even despite it being daylight and quite frankly, it was unnerving. Odd since he didn't seem to let that sort of thing get to him.

Ragnar shook his head. "Kattegat." A pause. "What is a year?"

His answers may have been short but there was reason for that beyond the obvious.

Well that answered that question. How far back did someone have to go back to when years didn't exist? He definitely topped her in terms of age. It wasn't everyday that she came across that. It almost put him on a superior level to her...except for the fact that he was mortal.

Even without immortality, there was something about him, something she couldn't pin down. His blue eyes as well held this strange mystery in them. He was intriguing, something she enjoyed in people.

"This place is going to be really strange to you. Um, I'm not sure where to begin explaining it to you."

Mortal and finding himself very impatient. Yes, this woman was trying to help, but when it came to answers Ragnar was seldom someone who could wait too long and right now seconds felt like hours.

It was in the moments that he found himself looking up again and taking to a pace that walked him in a slow circle in front of her with hands balling into fists down at his sides. He was beyond feeling caged.

His head whipped to the side. "Maybe a good place is the start, hm?" Ragnar answered with a bite of sarcasm. "And then maybe why I am here and not back where I should be. Everything in between is nothing I care to hear. Only who I have to talk to to get back."

"Well, that narrows down what I should explain." She'll opt out of electricity, running water and cars for now. They'll cross that bridge when they get there. "I don't know why we're here or why we were chosen. You'll find a lot of people were pulled here from their world and times too. Everyone with families and friends back home. It sucks, but there's nothing we can do about it."

She's going to emphasize that part since he seems like a 'taking action sort of guy.

"None of us have gotten answers and, apparently, when people have tried, there's been retaliation."
