Possible Scenarios01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach chruning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!
02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filing the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?
03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party at the Tower that spills out it's doors in welcome, by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.
04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences it's population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride. Choose your choice of sin and be wicked.
05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villian.
06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With it's open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.
07. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!
Buffy Summers | BtVS | Season 8
Buffy Summers wasn't exactly used to magically ending up in places she hadn't planned or intended to be, but it sure wasn't the first time it had happened. One second she was in the castle in Scotland and the next... definitely not a castle, and definitely not Scotland. Her hands out at her sides in a defensive gesture, she stared at the people milling about the street around her, going about their days as if it wasn't at all unusual for a short blonde woman in jeans and a cute tanktop to randomly appear out of nowhere.
Maybe it wasn't. Wouldn't that be fun.
Her expression turned angry and pretty darn scary for someone who looked like they could be blown over by a stiff wind. "Okay, who did that?"
02. Demonic Presences
Demons. First she got kidnapped to whatever crazy place this was with its weird housing situation and kidnapping, but then there had to be demons on top of that. And not the nice kind of demons like Clem who might look a little questionable but wouldn't hurt a kitten except to eat it. No, she had to get stuck with the demons who messed with lighting and scared people and were just generally not of the good.
Sighing loudly and perhaps a little overdramatically, Buffy rolled her head from one side to the other to stretch out her neck and stood from her little table outside the restaurant where she'd been hoping to have her dinner. "Okay, fine. I'm hungry and I'm cranky and this is not going to end well for you. So if we're gonna do this, let's do it already!"
03. Party Hard
Buffy had heard about this Emperor, hints of secrets and pointed looks from her fellow kidnappees that had her even more highly suspicious of this 'party' everyone and their brother seemed to have been invited to. But she'd never exactly been one to pass up the opportunity to get dressed up and do some light reconnaissance. Maybe she'd get lucky and someone would end up deserving a good old-fashioned Slayer ass-kicking.
Her dress was a sleeveless dark blue with a long flowing skirt that would facilitate said ass-kicking should the opportunity present itself. She felt a little naked without her weapons, but no one had ever said Buffy Summers wasn't resourceful. Once she'd slipped through the throng of people and grabbed a tall glass of something that would only be sipped (even though it tasted delicious), she took up a spot along a wall and started her people watching.

Let's go with Party Shenanigans
That didn't mean he had any idea what to do once he got there, though. He felt like he stuck out like a sore thumb, a stranger who didn't really understand this City yet; just a tourist, trying to look like he knew where he was going, how he should fit in.
Never one to pass up a free drink, Bucky grabbed a flute of champagne from a passing waiter, trying to look like he knew what he was doing. Taking a long gulp, he froze, staring at the flute. Either that was some damn expensive champagne... Or it wasn't really champagne.
He took another gulp, deciding he didn't really care. Maybe if he got tipsy enough, he'd feel like chatting someone up. He was certain he used to be pretty good at that, but damned if he could remember exactly how he'd done it.

That was why she approached the guy in the tux who looked a bit like he was forcing himself to be there, or maybe just forcing himself to try. She knew what that was like, too. Sometimes they all needed a little help with that.
Stepping up beside him, she kept her voice low and conversational, and there was a small smile on her face as she said, "So, you're new around here, huh?"

Now, if he could just remember how to be charming and not run her off. Casual conversations with women: not something you got a lot of practice on during a war. "Yeah, is it that obvious? I just got here. Figured, party," he gestured with the hand holding his champagne flute at the throng of guests milling about, "good way to meet people, have some fun. Didn't realize I was so outta practice at the whole thing."
He stuck his hand out toward her. "I'm James."

Slipping her hand into his, she tried really hard to keep her handshake firm but not bruising - sometimes her strength got away from her, especially since she'd been spending so much time around the Minis before her kidnapping.
"Buffy," she offered with a smile. "And don't worry, it's only obvious because I'm new too. Fresh off the kidnapping boat and ready to meet some of my fellow victims." She paused for a moment, then cringed almost sheepishly. "Sorry, I'm not really all that good at hiding my opinions about this place." Which probably wasn't a good thing, considering who was throwing the party.

He still didn't really know much about the City, or its inhabitants, but it sounded like Buffy did. Which was interesting, since it also sounded like she'd arrived at about the same time he had. "Sounds like you're the lady to talk to for information. I've mostly just been wandering around, trying to get the hang of all this again."

"Figuring out weird stuff is kinda what I do," she said with a bit of a shrug. "Or try to, anyway. The people around here aren't very chatty." Nor were the demons, unfortunately.
no subject
He sure wasn't gonna tell her that, though. Least not right now, when they'd just met. "Maybe... it's that they're chatty, they're just not sayin' what you wanna hear?" he said gently in admonishment, keeping it light and hoping she wouldn't take offense. He'd met several pretty friendly, chatty people. They hadn't really told him anything about the City, but he was still picking up on how things worked, and he was pretty sure most of these people weren't... well, weren't from the same time as him, which was really weird to think about.

"You're probably right," she acknowledged with a frustrated sigh, taking a sip of the champagne-like drink that was really too tasty for her own good. "I'm just not used to having to do things this way, you know? Back home, I could work the local bars and nesting grounds, beat up a few guys, and have them all singing before I had to get Dawnie up for school." Her tone was a bit mopey and downtrodden, and she looked a bit like the kid who no one wanted to play with during recess.
