Possible Scenarios
01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach chruning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!

02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filing the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?

03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party at the Tower that spills out it's doors in welcome, by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.

04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences it's population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride. Choose your choice of sin and be wicked.

05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villian.

06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With it's open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.

07. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

If he's armed, the weapon is small enough to stay hidden under his long coat, and he's made no moves toward it. He does raise eyebrows at Fenris's jumpy response, though, and is that much more careful for it. His voice is calm, reasonable, cautious but not overly so. Just another day on the street, right?

"Yeah, it fucked with me too. I don't think anyone calls it anything but the 'City of Sin' or 'the City', but you just appeared here, right? You were someplace else and now you're in this weird place." Best way to establish some kind of trust: he knows what happened, and he's a stranger here, too.

He narrows his eyes, once again making a valiant attempt at masking his complete and utter confusion with threatening posturing. It's even less convincing this time around as the reality of the situation really starts to sink in. This wasn't a just a bizarre dream.

"City of Sin?" He repeats slowly making his gravely voice dip even lower, accent hanging on the words. "I-" He hesitates, but the stranger seemed to be speaking from experience, "Yes, that's right."

The myriad of questions that immediately bombard his thoughts seem to make him forget that he's trying to look intimidating and he almost seems to deflate slightly. It seems pointless to ask how or why they came to be here or if they could leave. These seemed like things that the stranger would have immediately brought up if he knew the answer. Instead, he's left with no idea what to do or even what to say.

If it's a bizarre dream, it's a pretty damn persistent one, and he's got company. Rhys just nods understanding, waiting for Fenris to process what he's been told.

It's a hell of a hard pill to swallow, especially once it sinks in that if there was an easy way out, it would be clear. And telling him "sorry, you're stuck here" right at this moment would be unnecessarily cruel. So instead, Rhys says gently, "I can try and answer whatever questions you've got, or at least just give you a minute to get your head together. If you want to get a cup of coffee or something, or something to eat. At least you can take a few minutes without standing in the middle of the street...it's not always safe out here."

His lips pinch slightly, as he glances around. Nothing obvious yet, but clearly he doesn't trust it to stay that way.

Fenris isn't even sure what to ask, where to start. His thoughts move from potential questions to the stranger's offer.

"Coffee?" He asks incredulously. It seemed like an absurd thing to consider right now. Too normal. It's also incredibly tempting.

He finally nods his head in agreement, but not before scoffing at the man's warning that the streets weren't safe. It wasn't that he didn't believe him, he was just confident that, after Minrathous, Seheron and Kirkwall, he could deal with whatever this city had to throw at him.

"Where would you suggest?"

Good, he knows what coffee is. Rhys really didn't want to have to explain that. And stopping for a drink might be nonsense, but if Fenris is going to be here for a bit, he may as well get something to eat and drink to keep him running while Rhys explains. It'll be a lot easier on both of them.

"There's a place just up the street that has a nice canopy." He looks over Fenris again. Somehow, he guesses the guy will be more comfortable outside with a clear view of the streets, in spite of the somewhat chilly and murky weather. Rhys nods up the street toward busier corners, pulling his long black coat closer around him.

Coffee, though much more expensive and harder to find than tea, was a drink he'd heard of, but had never tried. He's not exactly hungry and he probably already smelled like wine. He'd been on his way home from the twice weekly card game he attended at the tavern.

He hesitates uncertainly, but after a moment nods in agreement.

"After you then," He says, his trust in the man is shaky and tenuous at best, but he doesn't have any other options at the moment and is planning on falling into step beside the stranger.

Coffee, tea, whatever strikes Fenris's fancy. The point is offering him something rather than standing here glaring at everything.

Plus, Rhys actually is working some pretty long shifts, and he's got to keep his own energy up. He could really use a muffin or something right now, if he's going to be wrangling stray visitors. Especially ones that were armored and had been drinking.

Rhys gives a small, dry smile, and nods. A little cautious trust is all he's asking, and it's not a surprise that Fenris won't allow a stranger behind him. Beside is just fine, and Rhys starts down the street. "I'm going to guess that you're used to fighting for a living," he says, glancing sidelong at the elf. It's probably a complete understatement, but...well, it is a pretty obvious conversation starter.
