Now that he knew she could read minds, he had to wonder if the various minds weren't overwhelming. But then again, he wondered why she wasn't more used to that already. Maybe she lived in a small town, like he did. Who knew.

Seeing her move, he caught on, moving to effortlessly remove himself from the vehicle as well, nudging the door shut before following after her. Not bolting, necessarily, but definitely taking it at a clip. As he did so, a grin started to tug at his lips, as adrenaline caught up with him. It was terrible, running away from a cab driver without paying like this, but it wasn't like they had anything. He'd be pissed anyway.

When they got to the foyer, he kept running, hitting the elevator without even knowing which floor he was going to. It didn't matter; they were inside. And it was at that point, back pressed against the wall of the lift, that Adam loosed a proper laugh, happy and a little giddy.
