James is anti-slavery but he is very very hard line justice and very much a believer in Right and Wrong. No grey areas. So... he'll take against Charles if he knows of his history or if he catches him with known Trouble Makers or taking part in bar fights

James is very much The Man and based in the established order of things, and Charles has never been very good with either of those ideas.

They're similar in some ways, but I doubt that they'd see much of that, the way they would probably regard one another.

James is nothing like Charles. He believes in law and order and Charles disregards all of that.

True. But they're both intensely loyal, hard-working men who just want to help those around them. Even when they're dead set on doing exactly the wrong thing, all the time.

WELL he's working at the police station now but also? Hanging out at the library becauae Diane Abel introduced him to modern history books and also spending a lot of time in coffee shops drinking tea.

Aaaand he'll be at the gun range learning about modern hand guns too
