Coordinating the police force

Seeing as there's an influx of people who want to work for the police force — in various positions — and since somehow, my little weirdo has been tasked with running the police, I have a proposal for some fun potential CR.

There are at least 4 PCs, and maybe even 5 or 6 PCs who all are talking to Gabriel about jobs right now.

1. Once you all pass your interviews, Gabriel is going to want to start partnering you up, because that's what he's seen on TV, but also because that's how the paramilitary organization he spent a little time with did things. If you're interested in this, can you let me know here? And if any of you have preferences for who you're paired with b/c you want to build CR with that person, I can just make up a random reason why Gabriel would put you two together.

2. Once you're partnered (or not) — he's going to be interested in giving you missions. Now, usually these won't conflict with our crime-committing PCs, but sometimes they will, depending on what's happening. He has a few things in mind, but if there's something you specifically want to play, let me know too, and I'll just magically have Gabe be on the same page.

For reference, here are all the PCs I know about so far who have explicitly expressed interest in joining the force and are in the process of getting a job here:

- Homicide: Mystique (aka Raven) + Chloe Decker (+ Lucifer)
- Drugs: Jill Valentine + Felicity Smoak
- Robberies: James Norrington
- Fetch Walker?

If I should add you to this list, even if our tags haven't gotten your character to an explicit ask yet, please let me know!

1. Gabriel is also looking for an assistant. Someone who isn't trying to be an officer or a detective, but who just wants a job and is real organized. Kate may take this job???

2. He may be asking Erik to come back to the force soon. So if that makes your characters want to work there more, feel free to factor that in. But that isn't going to go well. Erik won't be able to have that job.

Canine unit type duties -- she'll think it's hilarious and she called herself the on call canine unit at her last game so I mean. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.

Felicity has a special job. Depending on what's most fun for you, he could pair her up with someone could benefit from her expertise the most. OR, he could send her on a solo mission.

I think Gabriel needs someone else as his literal assistant. Can't go wasting Felicity's abilities.

Lucifer won't ask for a job, but he will just start showing up and following Chloe around with whatever she's doing. Even after being arrested.

But Jill's pretty good going solo, as well. She primarily does things alone or with a partner (which to her is really a personal, intimate thing and goes hand-in-hand with trust which is quite rare); she works best these days like that, versus with a large group but previously was Rear Guard which had her basically ensuring everyone got out alive and safe, taking care of loose ends.

This is awesome. How does Jill feel about having a partner who secretly (or not so secretly) is a werewolf and can do canine-unit-type things?

I figure if you're doing drug-related stuff. This could be cool.

Well Chloe can hardly do worse than her last partner... (yes, I see you there, Lucifer). Although he is the best partner she's ever had.

Mystique really works often best in solo missions because it best suited for the nature of her powers, unorthodox combat style, and previous history, which like much about herself she likes to keep secret to be able to move fluidly through the City and missions.

That being said I'd be open to Mystique as Raven Darkholme being partner up with someone to develop CR and sharpen her detective skills: Chloe would a great partner. Mystique's certainly the type you would want at your side and watching your back in dangerous situations. Yes, she will even tolerate Lucifer (to an extent) if he shows up from time-to-time.

Detective and undercover work for her is fine.

The problem is that Lucifer doesn't know the meaning of "from time to time." :-D

Having a shapeshifting partner would help her eventually believe Lucifer.

How would Sylar feel about his days being color-coded with the importance of the event dictated by how light or dark said color is?

Fetch is going to interview, but she's going to be very apprehensive. She spent a lot of time locked up because of her powers in her world and she doesn't trust the police well.

But she's also been trained by the military while she was imprisoned so there's that.

I'm thinking once Genn is more settled in (and has a functioning wardrobe), he'll likely approach Gabriel about what this is and what it would entail before deciding whether or not he cares to invest his time and effort in it.

Consider him an officer. If he's working robbery and not murders, feel free to make up some minor NPCs that work similar cases. Some of them probably don't like the current Chief very much. Some of them probably do.
