Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach churning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!
02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?
03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party in the Tower District that spills out its doors in welcome. Obviously, this whole thing is weird and you don't know who your hosts are, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.
04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences its population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and be wicked.
05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villain.
06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.
07. Network: There's a network device in your pocket - or at least a familiar object that seems to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps you can take to that and ask for a bit of help? Or maybe you'd prefer to have a little fun with all of this. Surely someone will reply.
08. Wild Card:Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

"You did something," he accuses, glaring at her through narrowed eyes. "I don't know how, and I don't know what, but I did not miss. You cheated."
And really, that's what irks him about all of this. It would be one thing if he'd missed, fair and square. He might have even purposefully put a little less effort into aiming the last one, just to bring a little interest and excitement into their game. But bringing cheating into this? That was just rude.
no subject
"Surely you can think of ways to distract me and get me to miss."
It was totally fair in her book.
no subject
"But fine," he says, as he starts kicking off his shoes and removing his jacket. If he's going to end up dunked in the water, no reason to mess up all of his clothes, after all. "Never let it be said, Little Miss Cheater, that the Devil backs out of a deal."
And with that he climbs into the tank, arms folded and lounging casually on the seat as if he were casually sunbathing on the beach.
no subject
"Ready?" She didn't wait for his answer. She threw the first ball and it hit the target without difficulty. Airy was really good at these stupid carnival games and her aim had been improving ever since she started doing jobs with the Rooks.
"You do look good wet."
no subject
He was all cool and seemingly above it all as he sat in the tank, waiting for her to make her throw. When it hits, he even manages to fall in a way that looks graceful...with only a little bit of uncoordinated flailing. (He will, of course, vehemently deny doing any flailing at all. The Devil does not flail.)
But when he emerges from the water, it's time for the full on Mr Darcy treatment. He purposefully comes out slowly, flicking his hair back and letting the water linger as it runs all over him. Then he leans with one hand against the glass, posing like he's in a raunchy photoshoot, and smirks right at her with an intend, predatory gaze.
"But of course," he purrs. "Did you ever doubt I would?" And then he's back on the seat, lounging like a porn star and reaching up to undo a few buttons when she takes her next shot.
Distracted yet, Airy?
no subject
All other considerations or thoughts vanished. Lucifer looked like he belonged on the set of a porn movie and Airy was staring. Damn it! She didn't want to stare at him but at the same time, he was very nice to look at.
She swallowed and cleared her throat. "I would never doubt you." That also sounded kind of lame but Airy didn't really care. She was kind of lame so it worked out. "So, this is your big plan? Strip? I've seen naked men before you know." Her recent antics made nudity a common thing but that didn't make Lucifer's display any less distracting.
"You're going to have to try harder than that." She turned towards the target, threw and somehow managed to hit it. "Oh I thought I was going to eat those words." Airy placed her hand over her chest. She could feel the pressure from their little 'game'.
no subject
And...there he goes, off into the tank again. He feels another flash of irritation under the water, but before he comes up he quickly hides it under languid smiles and long-limbed, enticing poses. He's turning the charm up to eleven, now, reeling her in. Or at least, he's trying to. The fact that she might be immune to his charms hasn't occured to him, especially since she seems like she's affected.
"How hard would you like me to try?" he purrs, leaning fully into the innuendo as he climbs back onto the seat. More buttons come undone, until his shirt is completely undone. For a moment his hand hovers above his belt...and then he stops. "Perhaps if you miss I'll show you a little more. A nice little consolation prize for you," he adds, with a smirk.
no subject
Bright blue eyes watched him with interest and then she turned towards the target and threw. Her aim stayed true and for the last time, Airy had sent Lucifer plummeting into the tank of water.
She was a little worried as he broke the surface this time. She had won and might have also made the devil angry with her. That probably wasn't the best situation to be in but if she survived Erik's anger, she can probably survive Lucifer's. "You alright?" She asked once he was out of the water and wouldn't have an issues hearing her.
no subject
But as he comes out of the tank, there's nothing in his bearing or expression that suggests imminent violence. The Devil he may be, but he's not about to hurt her for the little trick she just pulled.
"A deal's a deal," he says through clenched teeth. "And while some people might like to bend the rules, my word is my bond. I...owe you a favour."
no subject
"But why don't you come listen to me play sometime. I assume you don't hate bars?"
With a name like Lucifer, she assumed that he spent a lot of time around bars or strip clubs or parties or things like that.
no subject
He almost seems more insulted by the attempt to appease him by asking for a paltry, meaningless favour than he does by the fact that she swindled her way into getting in the first place, really.
no subject
"I have a question." She squinted at him. "Does anything make you happy? Either way, let's sidebar this whole favor thing because I really did just wanted you to hear me play and give me your thoughts. I play the violin at the Le Rideau Rouge which is a bar beneath a brothel."
She did not see anything wrong with her request. "Also, instead of calling me a cheater, you could just ask what I did?" And she would tell him but being called a cheater all the time was staring to wear on her nerves. "I didn't use any abilities that didn't already belong to me. It's also a game and you should lighten up after your little strip performance out there."
no subject
Really, she doesn't need to use up a favour to get Lucifer to come visit. This bar sounds like his kind of place. He'd probably have ended up there soon enough, even without her mentioning it to him.
"And very well, if you're so keen to spill..." he adds, leaning and looking at her with an expression of mock attentiveness. "Tell me how you cheated."
no subject
Airy huffed and decided to focus on the fact that she was wet for a little bit. She ran her fingers through her hair and flicked heavy drops of water to the pavement before wiggling her shirt and pulling out what water she could. It wasn't something she could use her magic to solve. It was too close to her skin and it made it difficult to remember what it was like before her skin was damp.
"And I am not Keen. I'm just honest." She met Lucifer's gaze and had to resist the urge to stick out her tongue at him. Sometimes, it was very difficult to act like an adult. "I used a skill of mine. I actually don't know what it's called but I figured it'd be more effective than taking all my clothes off."
no subject
And yet, she'd gone with her idea instead. So dissapointing.
"Well that's not an explanation, is it? 'I used a skill of mine'," he says, looking exasperated. "You might as well be saying you did a 'thing', for all the illumation that statement provides."
no subject
Really, that's what he's going with.
"Okay. How should I explain then? I am able to make things. It's a weird ability I was born with and it is very much doing a thing. I think of something and I can make it happen. I thought of you missing. I didn't visualize anything specific but something happened." She paused thoughtfully. "I enjoy making little lights when I sing or play. Everyone assumes it's special effects or something and they're always fun."
That or bubbles. Airy really liked making bubbles because who didn't like bubbles?
no subject
Her explanation, however, has Lucifer looking a little dubious.
"...You make things," he says. "By thinking about it." Humans don't just make things. Not out of nothing, anyway.
no subject
"And yes. That is how it works." Her weight shifted awkwardly between her heels as she looked at the small fair around them. It was a good day for it though she felt a little uneasy beneath the quizzical weight of Lucifer's stare. "I don't... really know how it works. I was just born like this." Airy had toyed with the idea that she wasn't human but she didn't really want to believe that.
"I can tell you more but I'm not sure what you want to know."
no subject
He seems to take it utterly for granted that she of course wants a sexy strip-tease from him. The idea that someone wouldn't doesn't even cross his mind.
"And humans aren't just born being able to make things out of nothing," he says. "That's not how you work."
no subject
"And what do you mean you."
Airy pointed at him. "What about you? How do you work?"
no subject
no subject
"So what are you? Oh, right." Airy shook her head. "Lucifer. The devil or angel."
no subject
He did...presently still have his wings. But only presently. He would get rid of them again soon enough.
no subject
She nodded her head down a row of stands and gestured for him to follow.
"Walk and explain. It'll help us dry off."
no subject
"I think I need to get back to the seedy little hotel room that's currently serving as my accommodations and get a change of clothes," he says, before adding in a leering grin. "Though if you'd like that strip tease, you are welcome to join me."
