Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!

01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach churning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!

02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?

03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party in the Tower District that spills out its doors in welcome. Obviously, this whole thing is weird and you don't know who your hosts are, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.

04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences its population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and be wicked.

05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villain.

06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.

07. Network: There's a network device in your pocket - or at least a familiar object that seems to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps you can take to that and ask for a bit of help? Or maybe you'd prefer to have a little fun with all of this. Surely someone will reply.

08. Wild Card:Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

Bars are usually good for conversation. Most people are either too occupied or too drunk to pay attention, but they offer an opportunity for distractions if you need one. Make someone angry, start a ruckus, and you might be able to slip out.

He takes his bow off to lean it against the chair, and sits down.

"Sure."

Honestly? A drink sounds pretty good, and he doesn't typically opt for drinking when in an unfavourable situation.

Jacob nods and gestures for two beers, not too worried by the fact they'll have to wait a few minutes for them.

"And I have some questions for you too. I guess you just got off the train?" He pauses, as that doesn't seem to make any sense to the other man. "I mean you just arrived?"

The longer Ratonhnhaké:ton spends here, the stranger it gets. How many people in this city found themselves here inexplicably? What is this place really?

Maybe this man has the answers. Or maybe he knows someone who does.

"Yes, I did. Do people ... arrive often?"

Since it's apparently so easy to tell.

"Real people?" Jacob asks, "Pretty often. They call us the Chosen, although all things considered I doubt we are actually picked carefully. They just drag in people, whether or not they'd be any use here."

The beers are set down in front of them, and Jacob reaches for his, taking a long swallow. He's never going to get used to the idea that water is safe to drink.

"And you, my friend, stuck your nose in. That proves you don't know the way this place works."

The Chosen? That sounds familiar. So far, though, it seems like they're not particularly helpful to their Chosen. As much as those visions that led him to the Brotherhood were vague and unhelpful in their own way, at least he had some kind of guidance.

Now he has no idea what any of this is supposed to mean.

He grabs his own beer, but doesn't drink yet as he studies Jacob's face for a few moments.

"Is that a warning or a threat?"

"Neither mate, just a statement of fact."

Jacob shakes his head. This man is built like a brick outhouse, and this is one of his favourite drinking establishments, he's hardly about to start anything here. Besides, there's something about the other man that makes him wonder if it would be a foolish idea to take him on.

"What I mean to say is that... you've been brought here, away from wherever it is you call home, and you're stuck here. It's not so bad, if you keep yourself to yourself, but something tells me you like to get involved. That's all well and good, but this City... it doesn't much like Robin Hoods. You know, robbing the rich, saving the poor, truth and justice?"

He sets down his pint, fingers tracing shapes on the glass.

"There's a police force, but they're a joke. What you have to worry about it the Magistrates. They're a law unto themselves."

"Do you know who they are?"

Ratonhnhaké:ton doesn't expect it. The title itself sends off warning bells, especially if the police force is a joke. Not that he's unfamiliar with that kind of situation. In fact, that sounds just like home.

Magistrates might as well be Templars.

He's not about to mark them for death without more info, but he will be looking for that info. And he certainly isn't going to be keeping to himself. He'll worry about crossing any bridges when he gets to them.
