Possible Scenarios
Please note that all characters will initially arrive in their assigned housing; they are free to explore the City to their heart's content after that!01. A New Arrival: Hello, New Person! You seem to have found yourself on a sidewalk in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a stomach churning feeling of being displaced. Thankfully, the streets are full of people - Watch out that you don't get mugged!
02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Whatever bar or street you're hanging out in suddenly go dim, filling the area with an unnerving feeling as the shadows on the walls jump out into reality. We suggest you phone a friend for help, or maybe try running?
03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party in the Tower District that spills out its doors in welcome. Obviously, this whole thing is weird and you don't know who your hosts are, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad.
04. Prominence: The City of Sin influences its population on a weekly basis. Too bad you came right smack dab in the middle of a heavy Prominence. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, or Pride: choose your sin and be wicked.
05. Trouble: Not everyone is sunshine and roses here. Some people are violent and cruel, raised in the sludge of a sinful city. And they like to pick on people they think can't fight back. Are you that person? Or are you the Hero who can't stand to watch? Worse yet, could you be the person doing the instigating? Villian.
06. Carnival: The City has carnivals or festivals now and then; you're lucky to catch one! With its open booths filled with cork gun games and funnel cakes, how can someone not have any fun! Go win your darling a stuffed animal, or meet someone new on the spinning cup ride. You might even see someone you know being talked into sitting in the Dunk Tank.
07. Network: There's a network device in your pocket - or at least a familiar object that seems to work in mysterious ways. Perhaps you can take to that and ask for a bit of help? Or maybe you'd prefer to have a little fun with all of this. Surely someone will reply.
08. Wild Card:Choose your own adventure in the game's setting!

[The staff sergeant issues Charles a pass and escorts him to the top floor, directing him down the hall. He'll find Erik's glass office and Erik waves him in. There's a glass of scotch sitting on the desk in front of the guest chair.]
Good morning.

Morning.
[He stares hard at Erik, raising an eyebrow at him.] I'll have you know, I'm very funny. Raven would say I was a riot. [Would she? Really?]
What's going on, Erik? Where are we? Why did you pull me here?

Erik... [He reaches out to grab the glass again, fingers tight around it but not sipping, not yet.] Okay, let's... Let's start small. Where is here? How did you get here, at least?
[Because he's sure he'll need more scotch for his side of the story.] Have you been here since Paris? Is this where you ran off to?
no subject
You don't know that yet? You should have gleaned most of that in the first two seconds that you touched my mind.
no subject
Perhaps I am trying to be polite? You have asked me several times not to enter your mind. I am just respecting your wishes.
[And not admitting that his powers are gone. Bad Charles.] Would you like me to enter your mind? I'm trying to be civil, Erik.

I'm not going to go into your head, Erik. Not this time.
And you'r evading me. Where are we? [He turned back to Erik, pounding his hands on the desk.] What is going on, Erik? I need to get home.
no subject
Why? If you're from any future I've heard about, it can't be that great. You're yearning for the company of Hank, for god's sake. Listen to yourself.
[He stands and faces Charles.]
We're in a City outside of time. Outside of reality. It subsists on emotions related to the Seven Deadly Sins. Those brought here are called 'The Chosen'. The flat you woke up in is yours to use, free of charge. You're stuck here until they release you. You, in particular, have been here several times before. I've run into.... You're the fifth, in the five or so years I've been here. Any other questions?
no subject
[His eyes narrowed and he glared up at Erik.] Stop that. Hank is a good person, even if you don't like him. At least he stayed with me after... [His voice trailed off.]
Heard about? What do you mean? When are you from? [Anything to get him not talking about his powers.]
no subject
[He walked to the window and looked out.]
It's terrible here, Charles, and it's also still better than all of that.
no subject
He sighed. His shoulders slumped as he opened his eyes and looked up at Erik.] That's nothing to the serum he gives me.
[He rose to his feet and moved over to stand beside Erik, staring out the window.] It's terrible here and yet you won't go back. How do you change the world for the better if you give up on it?

You abandoned me, Erik. You left me. You took Raven and you abandoned me.
[Charles jumped to his feet so fast that he kicked the chair out behind him. Moving closer to Erik, he stood mere inches away from his old friend.] How was I to know? They said that you killed the President. You were in a prison that was not easily extractable, my old friend. You drove Raven away. You didn't care that I needed you after I lost my legs!
Fine, you found your happiness and you can't send me home. Was there any other bombshells you wish to drop on me, perhaps?

[Charles backed down first, moving away from him and shaking his head. Number three? Number five? He didn't want to be another number. He just wanted to be himself. No past comparisons to things he didn't even remember. Of course, he would have to justify his actions again.]
Erik. You don't get it. I can't use my powers. I don't have them.
[Charles picked up the glass and turned, throwing it against the closed door of Erik's office, watching the glass shatter.]
I can't read your mind. I don't know anything because I can't. Not right now. Soon, it will come back when Hank's serum wears off. He's not here to give me another dose. I have no powers, Erik.

Erik... The treatment for my spine? It affects my DNA. It's not... I sacrificed my powers so I can sleep. So that the voices...
[His voice trailed off, looking away from Erik. He took the glass easily, sipping at it. Erik would never understand. He saw the powers a different way than Charles did. No matter the justification, the fact that Charles suppressed them at all would always cause Erik to look down upon him.]
no subject
You didn't mind the voices when they gave you an advantage. You liked being a mutant then. The problem is that if you only appreciate who you are when it's fun, then you don't really appreciate who you are, Charles.
no subject
[He glanced up at Erik.] I know that you didn't kill the President. I know what you said, what you always said. That they would come for us. I know the truth, Erik. You were right. I don't blame you for thinking me the fool.
Without you. Without her... Nothing was the same.

[He took a sip of his drink.]
We tried to have the school, Hank and I. We wanted to teach young mutants and have a place for them. It didn't... It closed. Everything was gone. I... I understand.
[He glanced up at Erik.] Where do we go from here? You're here, but you're not... It's not the same. We're not the same. And I'm assuming Raven isn't here.
no subject
[A beat, where he takes a sip of his coffee in a mirror of Charles' posture.]
No. Raven's not my wife, if that's what you're asking.
no subject
[He frowned.]
Good. She's my sister.
no subject
[He leans back in his seat, studying the old friend he is really very pleased to see, but who has no way to know that.]
I make no promises about Raven in our world - she's an extraordinary woman - but you can rest assured if she shows up here: I'm well and truly spoken for.
