State of the City : Paranoia
WEEK 40 : Paranoia
October 16 - 22
This week, there’s a little bit of a fear running through the City. Maybe it’s that whole Halloween thing looming up ahead, or maybe it’s the City pulling its usual tricks. Either way, both citizens and Chosen are finding that they’re rather paranoid this week. Some might find that it’s because they’re worried about losing what they’ve longed for (and perhaps got), but others may find that it’s a more broad sensation. Like something’s creeping up around the corner to get them.
(Players will decide how and to what degree their characters are affected by this and all of the prominence shifts to come. It is entirely optional to be involved with the prominence events. This will last for one in-game week and end on July 19. Please remember that we are on a 3:1 day ratio!)
State of the City At Large:
Questions? Like to arrange a meeting with an NPC? Fire away! If you wish to arrange a meeting with an NPC, please give the mods details on what you’d like to achieve so that we’re capable of providing.
Additionally, feel free to use this as a plotting post for the upcoming week!

State of the City At Large:
The Weather
There hasn’t been much rain this week, but the City’s still fairly cool. The days are relatively sunny and bright, and the general appearance of the City very much betrays the emotional pull.
Crime
There seems to be a larger influx of Lust infiltrating the City once more, vexing the CSPD thoroughly. No related deaths have turned up yet, but they’re not holding their breath that that will remain true.
Rumours
Some of the smaller black market groups in the Gardens of Pleasure and Shantytown seem to have disappeared. It was noted by some that they were getting more and more bold, trying to shift wares in more public spaces. That seems to have been nipped in the bud. Thankfully.
Some individuals have reported sightings of strange shadows lingering just out of their peripheral vision. They can’t quite say what they are, but it feels very much like they’re being followed.
Additional Notes
The Magistrates aren’t hiding anymore so much as they’re keeping their heads down to repair the damage caused by the Darkness and the demons. Oliver has stepped up as the interim Hanged Man, which few seem surprised by, though there are words going around about why he hasn’t been made official.

Rhys
It was briefly mentioned to me at one point that it might attract the attention of certain Magistrates if he starts using his powers in a destructive way, such as burning abandoned property in Shantytown. If this is something that the mods could find useful, I could see it taking some very interesting turns! Otherwise, Rhys will likely...mmm, I'm not sure. Him spending time in jail is very possible, unless someone more charitable takes him home to sleep it off or puts him in psych eval/holding until he stops burning things down. He's not generally super-confrontaional, even when he's off his rails, so it is probably 70/30 between him fighting when confronted, or simply collapsing.
So yes. Open to all the things and basically beating the shit out of the poor guy. The more he gets it out of his system, the sooner he'll come out the other side, right? :>
