Hi there, Diya here, and I've got my third character to throw at you guys. Since I'm fairly confident NO ONE is familiar with this particular canon (who plays TCGs for the lore? << ), here's a brief summary.



This is Ral Zarek, a storm mage from the city-planet of Ravnica. Said planet is divided up and ruled over by a number of guilds that all serve various functions of society, with very different ideas of what's best for the world. Everyone usually settles their differences by battling it out in the streets, so violence and upheaval is par for the course.

Ral is a high-ranking member of the Izzet League, a guild that tends to attract passionate, intelligent, and reckless individuals who can easily fall into the category of 'mad scientist'. Ral's no exception to this rule. His pursuit of answers and knowledge can best be described as 'ruthless' at times, and he'll want to delve into the mysteries of the city right away. To Hell with the consequences. He'll also want to align himself with the most intelligent people in the city, particular engineers and inventors, or those with extraordinary magical abilities. In his world, science and magic go hand in hand, so why would you ever want to solve a problem with just one?



His power-set is twofold: being a storm mage is pretty self-explanatory (expect more rain, and the occasional lightning bolt a little too close to home), but the more dangerous weapon is his mind. He's an inventor, came over with one of his toys from back home, and will immediately try to acquire a lab and supplies to start making more. Want to test some of them out? On a person-to-person level, Ral is energetic, charming, but sharp-tongued. He considers himself the smartest person in the room at all times, and hates being considered second to anyone. He's also more than a little reckless and will happily poke and prod at something he doesn't understand, even if it goes poorly as a result. He does tend to keep people at arm's length, unless he understands what they want from him and consents to it -- life's taught him often that no one really wants to get close without wanting something in return -- but he's superficially very chatty and personable, if a bit full of himself.

He'll be starting off in Shantytown, but will be looking for a new place ASAP. The slums are just a little too close to Tragic Backstory Town for his liking. If you want to plot with him or just say hey, hit me up here or on plurk at isadiya
