"Deal, though legs aren't everything." He stepped out on the curb and raised a hand and whistled. Somehow he managed to keep one hand lightly on her shoulder as he waited, not long kinda hard to ignore that whistle, for a cab to rush into the open spot.
He opened the rear door and gestured her in. "Don't worry about the coat Emma." Then to the driver he was a bit more firm. "Take her home, no grief." Then he slid the man what would likely be fare and half. "And your chariot awaits."
While his expression was slightly bemused, there was a roil in his brain still. Even then it was still good to see her again.
