"In between ill-advised acts of rebellion and intel-gathering," of course. The elevator door slid open, and Eliot swept inside.
"Today we are getting fucked up and listening to music so loud it drowns out the dubstep down the hall." Which had more or less been Eliot's plan for the day to begin with. Lucky timing, Penny.
As the elevator ascended, Eliot pulled the package out of his jacket. Inside was a full quarter ounce of pot, and a tiny plastic bag with six tabs of ecstasy. Eliot started opening it up before they'd even reached their destination.
When they did, he stepped out and moved to open the door, unlocking it with a turn of his wrist rather than bothering with a key.
"Bienvenido a mi casa," he said, as he moved inside. "Make yourself at home."
One thing Penny would likely notice as he stepped inside was that the interior of the apartment was quieter, psychically, than the outdoors. The noise of the City was muffled, through not eradicated. It likely had something to do with those handmade charms and runes set up around the walls and windows.
