The stars are going out. The first time she heard those words from one of the Torchwood technicians, Rose Tyler thought her heart might leap out of her chest. Those five words had increased their sense of urgency at completing the dimension cannon, and they'd worked round the clock to perfect their calculations and run all the tests they possibly could to ensure that she might make the journey in one piece. Because yes, she was the one risking her life to find the Doctor, and she wasn't hearing any arguments against that decision.
And she'd come so close. Meeting Donna Noble, helping to correct the decision that had made that parallel universe where the Doctor died under the Thames. She'd just pressed the handheld device that activated the dimension cannon to return her to Pete's World for one last time before hopefully finally reaching the right universe--
But this wasn't Torchwood. Reaching out to touch the brick of the buildings on either side of her in the alley, Rose frowned before turning to head out onto the street. This wasn't London, she could hear it in the voices of the people who passed her by. And it wasn't snowing in London. So where the hell was she?
Party Hard
The invitation had hinted at just how lavish the Emperor's party would be, but it still made Rose's jaw drop slightly. She was no stranger to elegant soiree's, thanks to Pete's many company and charity gatherings that the Tyler family attended, though this was a little... more than that.
Sipping at a glass of champagne, she moved through the crowd, her purple dress just the right shade of polished refinement to help her blend into the crowd while she listened to the conversations she was slipping through. Any information at all might be useful in uncovering the secrets of the City.
