A hurricane? No, that wasn't important. Peter was starting to regret drawing this out. He thought maybe if he told Nathan the whole story, he'd understand. But how could he? It was too far past his life. And he didn't exactly spend most of his time being understanding, either.

"Well, he kind of did. A jail he'd be stuck in." That was the best he could do. "Turned out he'd gone to Matt to try to get his head fixed." He'd wait for the snorting laughter that followed that, really. "Being you gave him an...outside perspective, I guess." Peter shrugged. "Anyway, Matt trapped him in his own mind, instead. Put him in a nightmare world to live the rest of forever in. I figured I'd get him out, force him to help, and then let Matt put him back in."

No he didn't. He thought Matt was being cruel, even considering. He didn't know what he was going to do, but he knew he had to save Emma. He twisted the glass of iced tea in his hand, wiping the sweat off the outside.

"It didn't end up working out like that."
