Lydia just inhaled sharply, shutting her eyes briefly. When she opened them again, she leveled a look right back at him, hers much more apologetic and uncertain. But at the same time, she was still determined, and though her lips were still pursed, there was that same conviction in her eyes.
"It's not my fault, there's nothing I can do to make you believe it was, and the place is still standing. I got the floors redone, actually - I think they're a little nicer now. Spilled drinks should clean up with ease, instead of making everything sticky. It's some kind of new coating."
