Buffy could spot someone who felt out of place a mile away, mostly because she'd felt that way herself so many times before. Being the Slayer had meant her life was anything but normal, and all through high school and college she'd had only her small group of friends, but eventually even they had drifted apart. Maybe that was why she'd taken this whole being kidnapped thing so well - well, better than she might have once upon a time. She hadn't actually followed through on her threats of maim and torture yet, so there was that at least. And she was starting to meet people, make acquaintances and maybe even friends.
That was why she approached the guy in the tux who looked a bit like he was forcing himself to be there, or maybe just forcing himself to try. She knew what that was like, too. Sometimes they all needed a little help with that.
Stepping up beside him, she kept her voice low and conversational, and there was a small smile on her face as she said, "So, you're new around here, huh?"
