"Ah, I don' know that much," he demurred, but was still a little pleased that she seemed to think he was knowledgeable about something, even if it was just a silly carnival game. He'd been starting to feel irrelevant, and practically invisible in this place.
"Sure, I guess," he responded, nodding to indicate that they should start walking, to have a look at the other games. "You wanna look fer something that can't be set up in a way tha's impossible to win," he started explaining. He pointed to the ring toss game off to the side. "That kinda thing, if the posts are too close together, you can't get the ring around 'em hardly ever, so that's out. If yer not sure about one, it helps to ask the carnie fer a demonstration, but that doesn't always work, either. They got ways of fixin' it so it looks like you could win, but then changin' it."
Drawing to a stop a little ways back from a duck hunt-style shooting game, he nodded toward it. "Things like this, or arcade games, those are yer best bet. There's ball tosses too, but they can switch the balls out after a demonstration, so you get a bigger one that won't fit as easily into the basket, or it's weighted differently."
Bucky didn't know that most carnival games weren't rigged anymore, but he didn't realize he wasn't still in the 1940s, either, so a little slack could be given to his outdated knowledge.
