Possible Scenarios 01. A New Arrival: You've just arrived in the City of Sin with nothing but the clothes on your back and a very strange sense of having been displaced. Thankfully, you don't appear to be alone. Here's hoping that person passing by is helpful, and doesn't plan on mugging you or something! 02. Demonic Presences: You were just minding your own business, weren't you? But that's always when bad things seem to happen, and the City of Sin isn't really that friendly. Maybe you'll find someone who can help you fight off that shadowy thing that's creeping towards you! 03. Party Hard: You've been invited to a massive, elegant party at the Tower by someone who calls themselves the Emperor. Obviously that's weird, but maybe you can get some free drinks and food out of it! This place might not be so bad. 04. Prominence: People have been telling you all about the City influencing your thoughts and feelings. You’re finally getting to experience that. One of the sins is in prominence, and you’re feeling the force of it fully. 05. Welcome to Fight Club: You’ve been dragged unwillingly into the Coliseum and told to fight some of your fellow Chosen to the death. Are you willing to comply? Or would you rather sacrifice yourself 06. Wild Card: Choose your own adventure!

Being the ever perceptive one, Caius let himself casually look over the man; mind silently asserting and making his guesses on the other man's story without so much as looking like he was. He half smiled at the guy upon hearing his admission.

"That makes you pretty new here then. You have nothing to compare this to." Caius remarked with a soft, friendly laugh. He shifted his drink to the other hand and extended it out in greeting. "Name's Caius. When did you arrive?"

Ashe didn't ever try to be more than he was. He didn't care much about money, it was nice sure, but it didn't buy love as the Beatles say. He laughed a little when Caius spoke again. "That obvious?" He questioned easily.

Turning in the chair he smiled a bit to wide "Ashe." He responded with his name in return as he took Caius' hand to shake. Just as he was about to answer more he remembered that he really shouldn't touch strangers. Luckily it wasn't a bad blast of emtion he got. At most he blinked and shook, quickly taking his hand back. "A couple days ago. Not long at all."

Devi was still working with the idea of their commune being Purgatory or a twisted form of personal Hell, but even after nearly 5 months, she still hadn't decided.

"Switzerland," she repeats, crafted eyebrows arching in time as she adjusts a little, head tilting slightly as she smirks and glances him up and down. Well, Switzerland didn't do too badly at all.

"San Jose, California. Of course, I'd say I don't have an accent at all, but I think I'd get called out on it. That'll make this your first City party then? What do you think of it's glamour?"

Nevermind that the city obviously hadn't pulled out all the stops, it did well enough without them, regardless.

He smiled, it was a touch shy, someone not used to being checked out anymore. It showed in the off handed fidgeting with both the beer glass and mild drumming of his fingers on the table. Sadly, the oil stains were still on his nails. He could never get them cleaned off for anything.

"It's a nice place, I suppose." He answered before a laugh finally escaped. "That explains it. You do have an accent. I had a feeling it was California. I've lived in the City of Angel's the past decade or so. Los Angeles." He didn't see a need to clarify, most knew it was LA. He shifted so he could look at the crowd, holding the beer as he put his back to the bar. His eyes going back to her each time he or she spoke. "Yes, it's my first party here. Its almost a little too rich for me, but free drinks, who turns that down?"

The oil stains got a half glance longer then the rest of him; suit or not, it meant that he wasn't pristine which meant that Devi would like him more.

Despite how she felt about LA, and there were strong feelings there, she smiled. It was always good to have someone know her home state, even if it wasn't her city. Of course she knew about LA.

"They run a little rich, yeah, but it's worth it. Half these people don't come out unless shit's going down or there is free food and drink. I like 'em. The parties that is. Gives me a chance to eyeball everyone. New and old."

She was observant, even in her relaxation. "How's LA holding up these days? Still barely avoiding combustion?"

They would have that in common then; the immortal quite a nobody when it came to others. Then again, he was just a guy who... existed. For a really long time.

The grin the other man got was confirmation enough as he shook hands with him. "Ah, new blood. Really, despite all the influences it's not too much like L.A.

Speaking of.. where did the City pluck you from?"

Actual hope is for children. I know it won't let us out.

"A friend of mine is from Los Angeles," he mused. He glanced at the man. "A lot of people have reunited with friends from home here," he said. "But just as many haven't."

[Erik raises an eyebrow.]

But it will. So what then?

"Influences of LA? Are you certain?" He laughed a little, finally pulling his hand back and putting both hands on his glass. "I can certainly say it's no where near this nice. I would know I was just in LA before he woke up here." He spoke his answer and non-belief all in one. "The city of angels, more like the city of broken dreams." and yet he smiled as he said it. The irony, a smile does not always mean one is happy.

Far from pristine, despite his attempts to look nice signs of his trade followed him. Minor scars and burn marks on his hands as well as the oil stains on his fingers.

"What better reason to come out?" He asked playfully, since that was his reason as well. Free food and drink, what half sane person would refuse it? "Just barely, the hills catch fire every year, even river Styx caught fire." of course there was no real river Styx, it was just a nickname for the Los Angeles River. "The place is still just as rundown and full of shadows as it ever was."

"It's a hellhole, but it's home." He responded, curious of the mans friend escaped the city unscathed. "Basically it is not wise to hold hope but it's a possibility of being reunited with those you know?"

She flashed a grin before taking a sip of her champagne.

The report of LA got a nasal scoff and a knowing nod. "Some things never change. This place won't be as bad. The weather is still randomly shit and Shantytown is a fuckin slum but.." She shrugged. "It could be worse. What district did you get dropped into?"

He gave a bit of a smile at that, it didn't quiet reach his eyes. Of course he had reasons to want to be in that hellhole but, maybe this was good. He needed to remember how to be positive. "They likely never will." he commented before nodding. "So, on a scale of one to ten how much worse than LA is Shantytown?" He may have a new hang out, yeeeah. "The Coliseum District, it seems nice so far."

Devi scoffed. She didn't find the District that nice, but that was a clash of opinions that she didn't voice.

"They've got good deli's anyway. As for scale, ehhhh," She shrugged. "4. Three if you're not feeling generous. There's a slew of drug dealers, pimps and their whores, gamblers.. dancers.. It's rough part of town." One that Devi didn't plan on visiting too often.

"I'm in the Gardens myself and that's all shopping and food. Much less rough... Much more... Fat."

The immortal shrugged. "Maybe more of a mixture between Sin City and there. Then again, it's been about 50 years since I've been to either place."

He took a drink and looked at Ashe with a half smile of his own. No, he knew very well how to do that. "Yeah, and it sounds like you had your fair share of them."

"....About 50 years?" He tilted his head a little more to one said than any normal person might. Like a curious bird. "You look no older than I."

He shrugged a bit. "Haven't we all? What is the good without the bad?" Granted some bad was just to bad to have to live through, but he had no choice in it.
