Perhaps it is a good thing that the gods of Rome have banished James to this strange place in Roman garb. If he had been dressed in his uniform, Connor might not have stayed his blade. His own sword, taken from him when he entered Rome, is still not returned to him, but he is still too stunned by his sudden arrival on the street that he could not have drawn it anyway.

He is clearly surprised to be addressed, and he straightens up without speaking, and then suddenly it clicks into place.
