That is definitely a thing that could happen down the road! Just probably not right away, as in canon he got involved largely because there was a Homicide Detective who fascinated him, and then he got attached to the people there.

So he could definitely get involved again here, but it'd probably need something happening first (either a crime that is Personal happening, or him getting to know the people in the department). He is super handy in interrogation rooms though, with his ability to make people confess their desires and all.
