"Have you seen my daughter?" Kara reached out for the young woman's arm. She was on the verge of tears. Her compressor was pounding in her chest. "Her name is Alice. She has brown hair, she's this tall-" Kara gestured at her waist height "-she was just holding my hand and now she's gone."

Her words came out in a frantic stream. Androids didn't need to breathe. They mimicked it, but it was practically inhuman how fast Kara was talking.

"Alice!" She turned her head and shouted once again, scanning the area for the child.
