Player Plot: A Spark of Something
A Spark of Something
Once upon a time, a wizard had his magic temporarily removed. When it returned a week or so later, he thought little of the longterm effects that this might have had on him. Little did he realise, there would be some changes he was unaware of.
---
All around the City, though most prominently in Leisurebrook, the Tower, and the Coliseum Districts, citizens and Chosen might notice a variety of changes. It all starts with the crackle of electricity in the air and the heightened chance to spark yourself; everyone hates static build-up in the air, after all. And maybe someone’s noticed a bit of ivy growing up the side of a building, or little flowers popping up through the cracks in the sidewalks. It’s hardly the time of year for that, after all.
As time goes on, these little signs seem to get larger and more demanding of attention. The odd bit of frizz in someone’s hair turns into a painful jolt when they get too near a building, or a small fire breaking out because the air is simply too dry. Those small flowers grow more and more, until they’re nipping at the ankles of people who pass - literally nipping. And that door that once led to the staff room is now nothing but a wall. But do try the door-shaped hole a few feet away, perhaps that’ll do it. Or maybe it’ll bring someone a block and a half away, out into the street.
Suffice to say, though: there’s definitely something odd going on.
Edit: Additionally, there will continue to be shadows lingering just outside of everyone's peripheral vision, creeping ever closer.
---
This is a mod-approved player plot, effective immediately and running in the background until further notice.

- - What’s the actual timeline for this?
Things will be taking place slowly, over the course of a few weeks in game. From October 23 - October 30, the City will suffer from the first stage: small plants growing where they shouldn’t and mild static. From October 31 - November 7, the City will deal with the static becoming downright painful at times, random holes appearing, and larger plants hanging around. From November 8 on, the City will have a number of larger carnivorous plants, as well as the continued static electricity and the holes.
- - I don’t really want to participate in any part of this. Do I have to?
Absolutely not! Though the results will generally affect the City, there’s no reason for any character to have to deal with any of it. Feel free to assume that you’ve simply missed some of it. Maybe you got lucky!
- - Is there a set end for this?
Not as such. Over time, the plants will obviously end up dying out, but the other results of magic will only end once Draco’s managed to get it under control. This will be managed through threads, and played by ear.
